Your art looks really nice and the theme flows well. Some ambient melodies and sounds would really add to the feel. I love how many cannons I could fit onto my ship hahaha!
I feel like the text was a bit hard to pay attention to, it seemed to draw focus away from the gameplay instead of flowing with it. Maybe some sort of interval or gap in the rocks would help.
The way the rocks blossomed was a really cool idea!
Some sort of closure to the game would really round it out nicely.
Game fits the theme well both in controls and in game context. Love the artwork. I enjoyed the narrative message the game was telling throughout and how the player is able to power up and power down intentionally.
Game with a lot of potential. Fits well the theme. As Fraser Curry mentions before, its really unique, especially the fact that we can grow flowers. 💐
This is really unique and the hand drawn art looks amazing, I love that the obstacles grow flowers rather than just being destroyed, that's a nice touch and fits with the general themes of the game.
I think some more polish and feedback with animation/sound for when you hit the obstacles/power ups would really bring this to life. You could have some sort of voiceover or maybe gap in the obstacles so the player can properly read the text, that feature is unlike other submissions and a great addition.
Regardless of the time well done!
Thank you for your comment !!
Yes I will definitely add feedbacks, I’m bad at sound design so I will also try to impove the visual feedbacks in addition to trying to find sounds that fit.
And thanks for the idea of the gap in the obstacle during the texts. I realized it was difficult to read while playing, i intended to make the texts last a little longer, but simplifying the level at the same time is a great idea :) (Ideally I wanted the texts to be half scripted and half interacting with the actions of the player, something like in The stanley parable, but i don’t know if I will push the polish to this point)
That all sounds really good! Even in a longer game jam it would be difficult to polish all those bits so you did a great job!
