A really well-made game with an interesting mechanic. Had me on edge the entire time!
I loved it
Really nice idea! The sound effects really lend it a retro feel. The gameplay feels simple but is very satisfying.
The mechanics in this game seem well thought out, giving it great gameplay! There were some really lucky moments where the balls just whizzed right past me and I thought I would lose.

I like the idea! Waiting for the shield to be hit before you can move it's a bit frustrating, cause sometimes is pretty random. To solve this it can reload after a while or maybe it can pull in nearby projectiles.
Visuals and particle effects are very cool!
Originally I wanted there to be three shields that could be placed, each with its own cooldown. Allowing either strategy or reactive playstyle. However, the time constraints of the development led to the game as it is. After the game jam ends, I think might improve the game. I like the pull-in projectile idea.

Nice game! The gameplay requires much attention since you always have to pay attention for an orb to come at you, but if it's too close you can't place a shield and you're dead, and that makes it quite challenging.
It was to prevent the shield from being placed over the player and thus negating the main gameplay. If I had more time I would like to have to change the cursor to indicate if you are in that zone.
