Got frustrated with the final boss but beat it with the power of just mash S and hope for the best

Favorite parts: I actually picked up a strat for such a simple game in order to get to the boss faster and faster every time n.n' and final kiss :3

This game feels like a product the language it was built in. It hit me with real retro nostalgia, as in Atari retro. The game design is simple and doesn't try to be more than that. Then you hit Mizuchi and you better be ready. She is beatable, but quite the difficulty spike compared to the platforming sections.

Come on fellows... She's not that hard, I did not have to restart even once...

So the only thing I wanted to say is: The sprites are cute but there's very low contrast between the sky(?), the enemies, and the spikes. It should go without saying in a video game, but make sure the background and the game sprites don't blend into eachother.

You shall learn the gamer skill "Kiting"

Nice work! I don’t know what BYOB is other than being like Scratch, so it feels rather unique and cool to build it in that. The pixel art for Marisa and the enemies is really rather nice, and the controls and sfx work nicely.

I wasn’t able to beat Mizuchi in the jam version though I gave it 10 or so attempts. I did beat her on the post-jam version, and kudos for releasing a version that fixes the main problem. The ending picture was funny :)

The game is definitely a nice effort. The art is cute, and the simple controls do the job. Only real issue I have until the boss is that the background is a bit too bright, and it makes the spikes extremely hard to see.

I only attempted like 3 times, but I'm pretty confident that the floating boss is impossible, unless there's some hyper-specific speedrunner kind of trick to beating it. It being so fast almost seems like an accident.

In short, (like iceing11 said) it's like one of those early 2000s flash games that you play as a little kid-- cute and fun at first, but soon becomes extremely difficult, and that's kind of a shame.

I played for quite a bit here and there during the jam period but still couldn't manage to beat Mizuchi(?). She catches up to you so fast that you barely have any time to respond. This does reminds me of those old games I used to play as a child tho. Keep up the good work!
