Oh hell yeah. Bit of a learning curve here but hella fulfilling once you master the controls. I can see this as some sort of a practice stage before the real thing. (I do find myself using the dash-slice ability way less than I should.) The platforming is a bit tricky here, and requires a lot of precision, might be the reason. Overall good game!
I don't know what Risk of Rain is like, but this is definitely a fun proof-of-concept jam game. The juxtaposition of a small-but-powerful Youmu in the midst of a giant, lonely landscape creates an amazing atmosphere.
Would be nice to see a full version!

not sure if it was intentional but the superjump you can do with the thing on x and the way you can mash attack during it is pretty cool
i thought you were supposed to platforming high enough to get over the wall on the right to continue the game but there are invisible walls :[

One of my biggest goals with this was to emulate the feel of ROR as close as I could, as it's a game I love dearly. I'll for sure be expanding on things in the future!

A fun game with a promising concept! I enjoyed experimenting with the variety of attacks. The pixel art is extraordinary for such a small amount of time. However, the goal was not quite clear to me. Does something happen if you level up a few times? I also noticed that the controls have a few rough edges, e.g. when you press against a wall, you can't jump. Other than that, very good job!
I'm glad you had fun with the attacks! A lot of the dev time went into them, so... XP
As for the goal, there was going to be a boss, and another level, but time constraints got to me. I'll be getting those in over time, as well as smoothing out the control problems. Thank you for playing!
Ey that's pretty good for 3 days.
I don't have much to comment on but I do think the game's clock is tied to the monitor refresh rate. My monitor on 144 Hz made the enemies spawn faster, have them attack faster and even made my bomb faster XD.
OH NO, that's hilarious. I'll have to figure out how to make sure it runs the same on all computers/monitors. I think it's tied to delta time, but I was running so low on time that I didn't have the chance to check. ^^;;

Hi! I've played the game and quite enjoy it. Add more enemy variation and boss and this will be a great game! I like that we use the half-ghost of Youmu in this game, as she rarely got some spotlight.
I found that the regeneration from level 12 onwards is quite ridiculous. I can leave the game on iddle and Youmu still can't die from enemy attacks.
Also, I managed to get out of the stage. XD

I'll be sure to work on the balancing of the regen and some of the other level up stats. There wasn't enough time for thorough playtesting so it seems I didn't catch these problems. XP
