Incredible amount of content for a jam game, hit on the theme well, and just a good shmup in general. Awesome
Making 5 stages with 4 difficulties and 3 shot types is insane. I love how creative the enemies are for each stage. It's really unique. Although I think the lasers in normal difficulty come out a bit too quickly <--skill issue
The gameplay is what you expect of a schmup in all of the good ways. It has a lot of good variety between stages. The way that scale is used is also a lot of fun, and so it naturally helps a lot! The foes all fit in very naturally, too.
I liked the retro anime style that the art has in the game! I enjoyed all of the music as well - and appreciated the lowered volume settings by default.
Overall, this is easily one of my favorites. Well done, developers!
I've seen your stream, and I'm so glad you liked the game! ^^ The art team did a great job, and I'm happy the audio balancing was alright (My headphones are kinda fucky so idk what audio levels sound normal to others)
I do apologise for the lack of story though, we meant to have a basic one (Explaining the premise of the game and how the final boss was able to use the mallet), but it had to be cut for time ^^;
Tysm for the kind words ^^
I don't think dividing hydrogen atoms is a good idea (?
My friend made some visuals for this, so I'm really proud of the result, I can't be that happy with the gameplay though, only useful secondary attack is the big needle, bowl could be better but it's very hard to use and mallet... well, I don't think anyone can complete bosses with that onle, unless there's timeouts.
I loved the retro style and danmaku was quite a challenge, would play this all over again. Plus, the title desing is pretty epic.
I think i have enough Rupees can i have my Bombs now?
Have to get some Lamp Oil and Rope first, I'm afraid.
I think it's a great concept. I liked how bosses became regular enemies in the following stage. The art and animations are pretty good, and I most liked the frog boss, I thought it was really creative.
I encountered a bug where the frog swallowed Shinmy and both of them disappeared and the stage stopped. I think that maybe the frog swallowed her just as it was defeated. I had to restart, but other than that the game ran flawlessly. Great work as always Kit & team.
Fixed the frog softlock! Didn't know you could kill it while getting tongued so didn't think to add a safeguard at the time ^^;
Thank you Kit. Heh, the first time I was getting caught by the frog all the time. It was a pretty neat attack.
Tysm ^^ It was pretty hard to code. I wanted to have the frog spit Shimmy out after eating them, but I didn't have enough time to do so in a way that didn't create a ton of extra bugs
I think Stage 4 is where the game really shinmed. Dunno how I was supposed to survive stage 5: am I meant to tank all the fairies' bullets or something?
If you can, please download the fixed version. The original had a bug that caused the fairy pattern in the final stage to loop infinitely. I'm incredibly sorry for this.
This felt pretty polished for a jam game! The art and music are good, the melee mallet and bouncing boomerang charge shots were a fun change of pace between runs (even if I'm bad at both), and I really enjoyed the escalation of bullet patterns. Thanks for the fun game!
Thank you ^^ Also, if you plan on replaying it, please download the fixed version as the original had a bug that prevented the final boss spawning and made the final wave of fairies last forever.
This is really good. I like the music and the abstract backgrounds in the first few stages. The different shot types are neat.
Thank you ^^ Honestly, programming the shot types was my favourite part of the whole process of making the game. There's something incredibly rewarding about it that I can't put my finger on.
(Also obligatory comment about how you should download the fixed version since the original stage 5 was bugged and didnt work)
