Im not sure whats happening. I have a theory but I couldn't verify it. I think maybe blocks break after a certain number of hits or maybe if they lose too much speed...hmm. Idk but I feel its like a rube goldberg machine. The sounds were perfect and I like the descriptions on hover.

Yeah it was supposed to be based off of how many times the block gets hit. The 'Bulk' stat was supposed to be the health, but the collision's wonky sorry😭

No no, thats actually really cool. If you had some game juice in there like maybe cracks on the blocks or some visual feedback like a camera shake if your piece gets hit, that would give it a lot of anxiety which would help keep someone immersed. I think its a neat game. :)  Good work.

Very simple setup. You pick a square and watch them bounce until one survives. I couldn’t tell what made them hit or lose, so it felt more like watching a simulation than playing a game. There’s no real player agency after the first click. The sound effects are there but there’s no music and the slice ends fast. Interesting idea to start from, but it needs more interaction for the player to stay engaged.

Thank you for reviewing, I'll keep that in mind for future submissions!😁

Am I allowed to like improve the game after the Jam is finished? Should I just leave the 'Jam version' untouched and create an 'updated version'? Thank you

HostSubmitted

Of course! Once the jam is over you’re encouraged to keep working on the game and improve upon it.  Come over to the discord and request feedback when you do.

this is so fun, it reminds me of marble racing. I also was wondering about which box wins, do they have hit points so the speak? it might be cool to see those printed on the screen when they get hit or something along those lines. I know there is an element of randomness based on how many times they get hit, but that could be a fun way to make it more dynamic to watch. cool concept! well done

Yeah there was a major problem with the collision, some boxes die in one hit another dies in 53, when all of their health caps out at 3(supposed to be represented by their bulk)😭. But it's a great idea to show when a box is hit, it could probably help me figure out the collision. Thanks a lot!😁

Not really sure what the rules are for this game.  What decides which box wins?

Developer

Thank you for being my first review. I'm so sorry for taking this long to respond, my WIFI's pretty bad. The way it is decided if a box wins is if it is the only one left alive. They do damage to each other on hit and they have a limited amount of health, once that health is depleted they are killed, whichever one's still alive before the walls close in is the winner.
