Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
We were inspired from real cafe's and our experiences from the meaningful kindness, conversations
and small gestures that add up and make a difference to people.
In our game, the theme of generosity isn't about simply giving an item, its about offering one's time, empathy, and thoughtfulness to people without expecting anything in return. Through our character's stories, personalized cup decorating, and more players connect with each
customer in a deeply expressive and human way.

Hey! The game vibe really feels like I'm working in a cafe! Music is so soothing and art style is appealing to the eyes!
I enjoyed the marker decor mechanic!! As a programmer I appreciate the logic behind it :D
I appreciate the options where you're can choose to ask questions to know more about the customer or can choose to just get on to make your drink.
and while playing I understand how the theme fits your game! I love that you incorporate generosity as lending someone a listening ear and it goes same for in real life too!! sometimes we need a just want or need someone to hear us out :)
This was a lovely game that had me replaying it a couple times to get it right. I accidentally hard locked myself out somehow by skipping through the second persons dialogue too fast. Somehow after the decorating phase I couldn't give coffee.
I like the message that I got from the game, that sometimes a nice drink and someone to listen can make your day a lot better. I like how as I was playing through the characters, I was getting some unsolicited advice myself. One of those coversations hit home.
The animation for putting the label on the coffee cup is a really nice touch. Well done!
The only thing that wasn't super clear to me was who was talking at what point. I see that at some point a blue guy popped up when talking to Leon? The wolf-tiger? That was funny.
Very charming game, I could see it evolving into a nice, rewarding, story based game, where you learn more about the characters when they return for their daily coffee/tea... Also I noticed NOONE wanted juice. noooo
A short yet lovely experience, aiding a variety of customers with their troubles.
The control scheme may confuse players, having to reach across for the “i” key instead of continuing the usage of “space”.
Apart from this issue, “Common Grounds” is quite nice. The art style is beautifully crafted, and each character is unique and interesting without sacrificing cohesion. Having the player contribute their own artwork into the world warms the heart. The adhesive decorations can even further enhance a piece, or assist those who may not be as confident in their abilities. Though the tools used may be impossible to reverse in the living realm, many digital programs benefit from having an “undo” feature.
Love this concept! It's sooooo cool to see the design on the cup after decorating!
It's an interesting concept and you made great artworks. I like the way you can customize cup label!
The simplicity and authenticity of this game were refreshing, plus the ability to create cute decorative labels for your customer's drink is a standout gameplay feature. This was a great submission, and I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for making something true to your own experiences!
