I'm loving the look and feel of this - the low color sprites are super cute, and I'm really interested in the story - I hope you'll keep expanding it!

NOTE: For everyone struggling with bugs, don't press the directional keys when in a dialogue box otherwise you'll get locked in place, and if you get stuck on a menu hit the back button enough times and you should exit it! Also, avoid reading all books EXCEPT for Winter Ranger, as the other two will bug your game.

With that being said, I really love the concept behind this entry. The setting has an interesting set up, and I adore the idea of rangers being named after the different seasons. It saddens me that this wasn't more finished, because I have so many questions: What is the current state of the world? What is Winter's relationship with Autumn like? Where are Summer and Spring?

I'm very invested in this narrative you were writing. I failed my last Game Jam (couldn't even get a submission out, honestly) so I can only imagine half of the frustration you must have felt not finishing this in time... But don't let that discourage you! I would love to play a finished game detailing Winter's adventures and what it means to be a ranger in a future project.

Maybe I am just missing something, but I can't really figure out how to play this... I get the menu, and I can get to an empty screen, but I don't seem to be able to control anything... any hints?

Developer

Nothing at all? After hitting start game on the tile, an intro should be playing.

So I get the menu screen, when  select start, I get a screen with some menu options, but none of them seem to do anything. If I press X I get an empty screen (see screenshots attached)

Developer

That shouldn't be happening. The in-game menu on my end should only be coming up when C is pressed. Otherwise, hitting X on title starts the intro for me. I can only guess this might have had something to do with how virtual keys handling were updated in the engine during development. I'm honestly not sure what is going on since my own local copy of what was uploaded doesn't have this behavior.

I got it working on my other computer, I liked it a lot, it looks great and plays well, and a very cool style/concept!
