I love the idea, its very interesting.
The aesthetic was great as well, maybe a little spooky music would be good.
But the controls are really strange. Sometimes he reacted to the slightest movement of my mouse and sometimes I felt like my screen is not big enough.
Overall great idea though :)
I like the spooky aesthetic and the maze, however i agree with a lot of the prior comments that the controls and camera view could be refined a bit. Also I don't know if anyone else realised but, pressing space makes the character jump? Was a little surprised to see that, but regardless, interesting idea.
Really interesting style of game. I loved what seemed to be a blood trail being left behind not only a great short term indicator of where you had come from but also made the controls feel more like they made sense. Struggling to control the character i felt like a desperate person alone in the dark dying and trying to find a way out.
So the atmosphere was really great, and i think adding some sort of eerie background music would have done a great job of amplifying it.
The control system although interesting and did kind of feel relevant was also pretty frustrating in places. I think a better tuning of that might have made the game more enjoyable overall.
Also on attempting to work out which control system this game had i did find that the space bar does a jump! So although this might have been accidental it does mean you have two inputs so maybe remove it!
All in all cool stylish maze game which i think with some tweaks could be really really great!
Thanks a bunch for playing! I really appreciate the feedback! Spacebar isn't meant to be an input so my bad, genuinely not intentional - The story you've applied to my game is really interesting and I'm happy to see you got immersed. Makes me feel proud of my first game :D
It took a pretty minute to beat the game, but the controls are the only thing I can recommend to be changed, mainly because some stabilisation in the camera would be nice since it would shake a fair bit.
The concept is pretty good and I agree with what others have said, If you can get the curser to lock to the screen in some way I think it would be much more enjoyable with the controls.
Nice game though
like the idea like the art style like the execution my personal issue is the controles as previously started the character should walk towards the mouse rather than with the mouse movment as i kept having to bring my mouse back down to continue walking forward. Fun game though played it for a while enjoyed it well done :)
I like the concept and its an interesting idea for a one input game. The controls were very difficult to use, however. I would suggest locking the cursor or just have the character walk in the direction of your mouse instead of having to repeatedly push forward with the mouse.
The red line was a great addition and the lighting was excellent. Would have been nice to add a "you win" screen after reaching the end.
Great game.
I think if this game was fullscreen and the mouse was locked in the center it would make it much more playable, I love the concept and the way the game looks, but I'm just struggling to control it a bit. In terms of design the maze is extremely complicated and this works extremely well with the lighting, if you combined this with some sfx this could be really spooky.
I love the top down view with the limited lighting, it makes it seem like a horror game. One thing that could be improved would be the movement system, it could be made a bit smoother as i found i was getting stuck in corrners and deadends occasionally.
Apart from that i thought it was a fun game.
Enjoyable game and loved it all. I feel you need to fix the cursor into the game but apart from that I moved smoothly and it was fun trying to navigate a maze giving me memories on getting lost in asda as a kid.
Like the idea, and the minimalistic neon art style seems promising, but at least for me the controls just don't work. moving the mouse just seems to ever so slightly nudge the character in a seemingly random direction while the camera stutters around in random directions.
My one thought is that maybe the cursor is supposed to be locked to the screen similar to first person games? This is a total guess but it's the only thing that came to mind.
