Love the art presented in game. Game itself is enjoyable, but the camera view had too much focus on character and it was slightly difficult to see the map. The controls were a bit unclear but I got a hang of it at some point. But the game made a really good attempt at Mario platformer game.

Decent game! I liked the character art. Looked very cool.

Couldnt find the cat xD

I found the field of view a little too closed into the character. Would have been nice to see a bit more of the map in front of you. Also, the mechanics took a second for me to grasp. At first i didnt really get that you could double jump, so i would die easily to the hostiles. But once i got that, i managed to play the game longer. Would have liked some game sounds or music.

Overall, decent game!

Nice attempt at a mario platformer. The sprites were well made and the controls worked quite smoothly. My issues were that I couldn't really get a very good grasp of where I was going and it seems to be a very small window of jumping on enemies unless you double jump, I also didn't realise there was a double jump right away and spent a couple of minutes trying to jump up the first big wall, thinking that maybe the game was broken. Additionally running and jumping animations for the main character would be awesome.

Nicely executed platformer. The zoom on the camera was a bit confusing at first and I encountered a bug by somehow jumping underneath an ''enemy'' and killing it. Apart from that  I really like the double jump. I'm a sucker for pixel art so I loved the artstyle.  Good job.

Great idea for a game, I like the sprites here!

However; the camera is too zoomed in on the player which does not give a sense of awareness of the surroundings and the detection boxes are a little off. Some enemies had no enough space to jump over and you have to lose a life to get past them.

Really enjoyed the double jump idea, and the lives thing!

Good job everyone!

Be sure to list all your team members as contributors so that they can vote as well in the future. A good attempt that demonstrates key platformer mechanics. Sprites were of a good quality and there was clearly attention made to the level design in the form of branching pathways.

I feel like more could have been done in the time frame you were given, as there isn't much that differs this title from comparative platformer games. This was supposed to be "Mario with a twist", but I couldn't really see a unique mechanic or aspect of the game. Hit detection between the character and enemies was a bit weird and caused unexpected interactions. The camera felt too zoomed in on the character, by allowing more of the level on screen, it would make the game feel less cramped. Some graphical improvements to the environment would have gone a long way with this. Finally, you credited websites with Music and Audio, but neither of these were present in the submission.

Whilst there are certainly issues with the title, this is likely the first time some of you have worked in a team on a game. What have you learned, and what could you have done to improve your product?

Hi Charlie, Thank you for reviewing our game! I agree with everything you have said and will be sure to pay attention to these details in the future, I definitely should have done more game play testing to ensure everything was as smooth as it could have been  :) And yes I must admit we did have a few complications when it came to making this game due to the fact it became corrupt very soon to the submission deadline, leading to me having to rebuild the game which may have been why some things were a bit rushed as originally we did manage to get the animations in but we didn't manage to find the time after the corruption and same goes for the audio. I believe the reason for the corruption was because we were all working in different versions of unity and when we used the collaboration option, our work got messed up so we learnt our lesson there. personally I would have loved to have been able to add more levels but time became an issue unfortunately.

Awesome game!!!! I love the art  so much - the enemies are giving me slight Team Rocket vibes which is pretty cool. Great game play y'all should be proud!! Congrats :)

Really enjoyable to play, the double jump feels good and the character sprites look great! I like the addition of lives instead of dying instantly, the difficulty feels just right.

There were a couple of "leap of faith" jumps where the platform to land on was out of sight which I felt detracted from otherwise solid level design.

Add some coins and multiple levels and you've got a really fun little platformer on your hands, nice job!

It's a decent game with nice looking character sprites. I liked the idea of adding double jump. The only major game breaking bug i encountered was that the player teleports to the start of the level randomly without losing any lives. Otherwise a good effort

A good attempt at a platform game, I liked the style of it and that you included a start screen with credits to show and inform who made the game, it did take me a while to realise you could double jump as well as thought it was only the normal jump which including double jump was a good idea to have, I liked how you had to jump on the heads to defeat them as such, and liked how the player and enemies looked overall, I feel that the background could have included abit more and if audio was in the game as well this would have made it stand out even better, but I can see a good attempt was made and I still enjoyed it anyway. Well done!
