The game itself was really well made to the background music to the gameplay for instance the controls the only complain I had is that the game is quite unfair and annoying but on the other hand being an unfair platformer made the game even more fun as games should make you Feel some type of emotions from enjoyment to frustration

It's me, I'm the idiot that waited out the monologue. I had thought it would go straight to the game afterwards, but hey I still had to do the 100 space presses.

I'm not really a fan of unfair platformers, mostly because I suck but I felt that the controls worked quite well and it definitely did it's job of frustrating me. A good submission.

This is a well made game, the sprites are good and the sounds fit well. The player movement felt responsive, I never felt I died because of bad controls. I'd argue that this kind of game is more about memorising paths to take rather than pixel-perfect jumping, which let down the last level. Overall a fun game, nice job!

Really like the audio that comes from this game. Really like the fact that it is a game that makes you so frustrated to the point where it is enjoyable at the same time that you just won’t stop. One thing I would say is maybe the monologue part could have a skip function.   This has potential.

Really nice game. The unfair part really felt annoying  but the rambling part was boring. You should have made it something really annoying. The controls were tight the art style is neat. Overall pretty good.

This game was probably the most fun I have played. A combo of frustrating, and enjoyable. This game was a great attempt at a 'fair' game !

Honestly that starting audio made me crack up so god damn hard - great job! The sound effects were nice and the game was so frustrating it kept me wanting to play more - great job :D

A well made 'unfair' platformer, incorporating many elements of what makes such games frustrating but also rewarding once completed. The beginning aspect was thoroughly entertaining. Movement was tight and visuals were appealing and contributed well to the experience.

The beginning audio was entertaining, as stated prior, but I felt like an actual script was definitely needed. It was clearly obvious what you were aiming to do, and with some more focus on what was being said to delay the player for as long as possible would be a better use than just rambling off the mic. Secondly, the key part of unfair platformers is determining solutions and remembering sequences. In notable titles, most famously Kaizo Mario World, the game appears impossible but through trial and error with a decent memory you can even do the game deathless. Relying on 'leaps of faith' as you did especially on the last level don't engage the player as much. Think of unfair platformers as Puzzle Games, not traditional platformers.

Overall, this was a good submission and take on the task set. With some work on the level design and writing, I think that this has a lot of potential. Great effort.

A very challenging platformer game with the unfair parts used to the advantage to make the player want to play to work out the correct path, I liked how you did your starting screen as was not expecting that to happen with one of your voices, I liked that you included sound effects and background music within the game as well which made the game more enjoyable and the art style worked well in my opinion, liked how you did say as well 100 times for it to skip as was nearly tempted to go downstairs and get a cuppa tea but managed to hear it before going down, anyway great challenging game overall so well done!

The idea of making an unfair platformer was something I expected to hear about, but not play. This was an unfair platformer, in all of its glory, but just because you label it as unfair does not mean you have an 'out'. There will be bias here, as I find unfair platformers to be a dumb concept. This is as there is no enjoyment value of such games, only frustration.

First of, the movement script is solid, I am a fan of how responsive it feels, and there is a feeling of when something goes wrong with the platforming, it's my mistake rather than the character's.

I did enjoy the art style, although it is fairly unconsistent due to the variety in pixel sizes between the different sprites. Might I suggest following a scaling template for the future?

Finally, there is the game itself. This is a flawed unfair platformer to the core. First, there is the 3 and a half minute monologue, which could be skipped, but as I missed the prompt telling me that I had to press it 100 times to skip it, I sat through all of it, scrolling through Reddit, waiting for it to end. Second, there's the level design. Yes, it is unfair, but in my opinion, an unfair game is a testament of memory if anything, remembering where traps are placed and carefully avoiding them. This game is a testament of memory, hand-eye coordination, and luck. Testing all of these abilities bored me after the second level, yet I completed the game.

Overall, this could be so much better if it was not an unfair platformer, but I know there are people who like themselves a challenge. This means that to execute this properly, the game needs to feel more challenging than tedious. If you can solve that problem, this would most likely be a better game.

Thanks for the feedback! the main idea we decided on before making this game was it to be as annoying as possible. Thus comes the 5 minute monologue annoying the player.
