I like card games very much, that was basically half my childhood. So seeing this game was a pretty big incentive to play. I think the artwork is interesting, all of it plant based, I kind of missed the growth aspect a little bit (is it because your cards in your hands are growing?) I liked the mini map that showed you how much more you had to go, it was a good incentive. The effects on the cards I could understand for the most part, but it is very unclear when you don't see your opponent on the screen. The card descriptions could stand to be more descriptive, the 1/10 shield says clearly that it will restore health to the enemy hero, but what amount the cards that say "deal 1 damage when this dies"? Does that imply you are taking 1 damage, or the enemy? Clarity is always important. Not being able to see what was happening confused me and made me wonder what specific effect were doing, so my gameplay then turned into to "Play cards with highest attack stats and pick effects that don't hurt you" rather than encouraging experimentation. If you get to the end, an elevator gets you to the top and you party with some trees. I don't think I saw the "Spring Surprise" and you certainly can't beat the game in less that 200 seconds. But I can appreciate the grit it takes to make a card game in this amount of time, so good job, good hustle, and keep making games!
Hi ! Firstly thanks you for taking the time to finish the game, we really wanted to try our skills making a strategic based game. We made this game mainly to try and see what it can do (we know the problems but not enough time to fix everything because we lost a lot of time on bigger bugs that don't let us play). We know making a good card game in Gamejam is impossible but we wanted to try ! Also if you still want to know the 1 damage is on the both, player and enemy ! One last time thanks you again for this comment it will help us for our next games and last thing : My Dev friend beat the game in 197.32s in full speedrun and 204.04s for me ;D
Well, you certainly have proven me wrong with those speedrun times! Again, good work on the game, and thanks for listening to my feedback.
Thank's you to have written those feedback !
This was a fun concept! Good job!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it !
No problem I really did enjoy it! Also if you have time and haven't already I would love it if you could check out my game as well! :)
I really liked the music and art but my laptop had issues playing the game. I couldn't get combat to work, I think because my screen resolution is too low and it cuts off parts of the screen.
Yeah, we are really sorry for this bug, we made the game for a 2144x1206 screen resolution and we didn't have time to adapt it in others resolutions, sorry :c
1920x 1080 or 2144x1206 but not less
Thx x)
I'll try to correct that ;)
Hey, I could not really understand what was going on with all the cards so I stopped playing. I liked the art style!
Hi ! sorry we didn't have time to do a tutorial, but it's simple : you move a card on the middle by clicking (on the red area) and then press attack button, the card will fight the boss for one turn and then upgrade herself and the card on the upgrade area (1st location) ! But anyways thanks you to have tried !
Like your concept, it was fun to play)
Oh thank's you !
glad you like it !
