Super interesting game- bewildered at the sudden ending but it was still mega fun to play!

Although I'm a lil confused at the sudden ending like that with no explanation, it feels like a good choice. It leaves the entire story up for interpretation in a good way imo. Have the feeling it's a metaphor for their friend; they are the friend that they recently helped get away from a toxic friend group that was weighing them down, and letting go of their friend in the "go back" ending symbolised that. Even outside of such interpretations, the story is still cool in the way it builds up the unease masterfully. LOVED the artistic direction, as well as the choice to add movement, it's a nice addition that makes you feel like you're doing just a little more than pressing through dialogue and breaks up the monotony. I guess my sole critiques would be that I wish there were more choices to be had to make it more interactive, and that, atleast on my pc, the text looked a little low resolution(unless that's intentional!)

Haunting, a siren song to the doom that welcome us all. The horror of the unknown...

Incredible storytelling, soundtrack, and visuals, and the story leaves just enough to be wondered about. You can absolutely take it at face value, or you can find metaphors if you go deeper beyond the surface. Love this game!

When I saw someone review this on YouTube, I didn't expect this to be a Lovecraftian tale of toxic friendships. Just gorgeous all around! My only complaint is that there's no way to naturally leave the scenes and go to the world island map, but 1) it's such a nitpick that it doesn't affect my rating for the game, and 2) it's something I'm sure will get added after the jam is finished (if the devs decide to release a post-jam version, anyways).

LOVED the soundtrack to this game + had a  great time playing overall! left me with a lot of questions but the atmosphere was awesome, esp at the end of the game!!

AMAZINGGG game11!! loved the characters and everything overallll

Interpreted the game as a metaphor for losing relationships with people you were once close with, which ended up making me feeling more sad and heartbroken, which is usually how I like my horror to be anyway. Visuals are a delight, loved the vaguely 90s pc feeling border

Man… At first I was thrown off and took the happening as partly literal, and spent the whole night thinking about and discussing with my friend about it. I think it’s a very good sign over how good the writing is when it triggers a long discussion and thought about the nuances of the story, I think it’s very interesting how differently a player could take on what’s happening with the protag and her friends based on their own experiences.

I really enjoyed it, also music good! I like that the artstyle went on a slightly different kind from their usual. Y’all really did a great job with Rot in Paradise!

It's very easy to say that I'm obsessed with the soundtrack, that is one of the reasons I keep going back to play it. And wow,90+ CGs? That's a lot, and they're all so well made! Well done to the studio for making this game with a restricted deadline!

I would have liked to get some closure as to what was going on, but it was a nicely made game.

the visuals in this work SOOO well the art is fantastic! whenever the atmosphere switched from "fun resort trip" to "something is Off" it gave me major whiplash and made me uncomfotable, in a good way!!! as short as this was it left an impression on me for sure

Commenting after playing through both endings, this is such an awesome game and fun concept! I've played many of studio investigrave's games before and I always enjoy how each game feels so distinct. Love the texture of the visuals in this, the story was also very intriguing and I honestly want more because of the abrupt ending. Beautiful stuff all around!

A truly awesome game! Sure, the endings are a little abrupt, but that only adds to the game's charm. The art was cute and the characters were funny and relatable. Some of the scary moments did indeed make me feel scared.
