top down games are definitely a lot of fun. Optimization problems may be more serious than you realize, and if you want to develop the game further, I recommend solving them at least partially. With the current optimization, it would be a mistake to add new content, it is better to focus on improving optimization. The problem of balance is also really huge. So unfortunately, the technical implementation is weak, but game has a good fan, especially if you play as a magician. I still don't understand the vampire, I assume it's something like the ability to parry and teleport?
I've realized the optimization comes largely to my export settings whoops! (One button fix, but of course one did not find said button until after submissions). And you would understand the vampire correct yes, parry and a teleport. both being charge skills. I wanted something of a hard but satisfying challenge character, but of course time constraints made it hard to balance.
In any case, it was a great game. I made a lot of mistakes at the jam because I didn't have enough time, and I didn't get to do everything. You did a great job.
Okay, while I want to say it’s a neat little idea but the execution isn’t really fun. It’s understandable tho that the difficulty really isn’t balanced with it being a jam and all.
Very cool idea! Unfortunately the lag spikes make it almost unplayable. It seems very hard, it would be great if there were better telegraphs for each attack.
I've found the lag spikes go away after an attempt or two (once each attack has been executed once). I'll definitely be looking into that after the jam. Thank you for your feedback, I'll definitely consider adding a bit more length to the telegraph
