Good concept, and the level randomisation works well! I think you used a rigidbody for the character which messes with the collisions, you can replace this with a character controller to fix it.

The game page is pretty blatant that this is didn’t get finished, but for a game jam product it’s a nice tech demo. And really good for a first jam game! For the mechanics that are there (moving, shooting, random level generation), it all works really well. The enemy spawns might need a little bit of work (it was inefficient to shoot them all, so I ended up just avoiding them and having a horde flocked after me!) but otherwise I don’t think it needs too much more on the gameplay side. You could even keep the minimalist art style, just add some plot/story or objectives 😊

I liked it, I'd suggest making your bullets more effective and the enemies touching you do more damage. The keys were a bit hard to see too, I had to go back through the level 3 times to find them all. Maybe a UI that tells you how many keys are remaining.

The shooting effect looks good! Might be nice to have a recharging explosive projectile or mine you could use. What is here works well!

Good job :)

It really feels like you could have just had once you leave the gate it spawns you onto a new level and it'd make it feel that much more complete!

Then throw on a score which continues until you die and it's a real game :D

The level generation seems to be working well - which is the bit I was suspicious of when I saw your video last week.

Yep the random level generation (mixed with life just being busy in general) is why I never got beyond the shooting & moving mechanics - was looking to add both a score and extra levels like in your suggestion but just ran out of time! Think I'll take a break this week but will definitely get back to it and add all the suggestions from the comments 😊
