I find the variety in playable characters really engaging. The character designs, animations, and the visual elements in the game are all quite appealing. I love the depth given to each character through their individual stories; it's a real treat for someone who appreciates well-crafted narratives in games.

This game has such a great story too it! I love how all in depth the characters are and their animations were super great! I think it would of been cool if they had different attacks they shot out too, but I know thats stretching it for this class.  I wish more of your game was themed around the characters though as you had some plain backgrounds and buttons on your page. Even though you had simple gameplay the depth of your lore more then made up for it. The character selection was a great touch that lets the player feel like they are more in control. Great game and I hope to see more!

The fact that there are different player characters is interesting. The character portraits, animations and in-game sprites are all pretty nice looking. I also like the pixel art mountainous background. The platforms move across the screen slightly too quickly, I think. I cannot go backwards to jump onto a platform I just barely missed because of this. The enemies maybe feel a bit out-of-place, style-wise. I appreciate that each character has a story to them, it speaks to the game writer in me.

Positive feedback:

  • Love the characters! And the fact I got to choose one.
  • Love the character narratives!
  • Navigation and shooting are intuitive
  • Jumping is responsive and as expected
  • The height of the jump is just high enough to hit the platform, so it made it a little suspenseful, wondering if I was going to make it

Constructive feedback

  • I wish the platform were a little slower or the character a little faster so I could catch a platform I wanted to jump on
  • For the next iteration, it would be fun to have a limit on the firepower, and maybe have an additional pickup for ammo
