Love the retro design reflected in the game's elements: visuals, interface and audio all give off a nicely period feel. The subtle warping and scanline effect to make the game look like it's a monitor works very well. Gameplay is a nice, self-contained maze. I wish there were better ways to ward off that monster - he's fast!
Thanks for submitting Escape Mansion to the jam!
Very well produced game, nice menus, good graphics and audio. Especially like the CRT effect, I really wish I had that for my game! Game is challenging from the start, werewolf kept getting me!
I screamed out loud when I had the 8 keys and the werewolf was just behind my heels! Enjoyed the game a lot! And thanks for the save point after the first gate, I would have give up if I was forced to start from the beginning!
Great game! :D I love the sound design n.n
Thank you. I still think the game could use some kind of ambiance, but since I was running out of time, I've tried focusing on the monster sounds, which I think turned out fine. I know there are a few bugs with the werewolf, where the chasing sound sometimes doesn't stop when you die, but I'll be addressing that after the jam. Thanks for the feedback!
I like the art and the gameplay! The game also felt balanced and fair. When I got cornered by the monster in the first section, I was able to take advantage of its aggressiveness by hugging on one side of the wall, then rushing to the other side before it could catch me. The maze was also wide enough so that I could escape the enemies without too much trouble.
Edit: I made a video of your game. It's at the start of this video.
Incredible game! The art style and movement flowed so nicely together!😁
Thanks! I'm not that much of an artist, but I'm really happy with the results. The animations took me an eternity to make, but glad that I've manage to make it work well. Glad you like it
Great work on the atmosphere, I love the CRT aesthetic!
Thank you! I love the old CRT style, and I'm happy I was able to make something with that vibe. Glad you like it
I love tv/camera display, and audio design was a perfect fit! I struggled a bit with getting a grip on avoiding monsters, but I dont think it was unfair, it is nice to have some difficulty. Also, you managed to create a great atmosphere <3
Thank you! I really like the CRT style and I wanted to create something with that vibe. And yeah, the collider of the monsters is a bit off, which makes it hard to tell when you're safe when you're in a close distance. I'll be addressing these after the jam. Thanks for the feedback! Glad you like it
I was able to complete the game, It was very fun! loved the art direction and the monsters, very cool concept.
Thank you! Glad you like it and managed to beat it. I had plans to add more monsters and levels, but had to do some cuts. Maybe in the future, I'll add them
Love both audio and art design, just the difficulty was little too much for me especially the part with ghost. Spooky and challenging, congrats on making it to the end!
Thanks! Yeah, the ghost part is a bit too hard. I'll be making a patch after the jam to fix this. Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like it
