This was a very disappointing experience because of the blasted pixel movement. Why, oh why did you put it in ;-;

I was enjoying the game just fine until in the first place I came to the spike room and it all went to hell. I gave it 5 tries. And I just could not. The pixel move collision REFUSED to cooperate and despite me being miles away visually from the spikes I kept getting hit and dying. It was honestly very upsetting because I was enjoying it fine.

What little I can comment on:

  • Rework or get rid of the blasted pixel movement. It adds nothing and is a problem with collision.
  • Use of materials was nicely done, maps were simple but that's fine because the tileset which I love is made to be.
  • Combat was dull form what little I saw (only got kick and to fight rats and slime(, cant comment much for later parts.
  • Presentation of story was okay and I was somewhat intrigued.
  • I wasn't a fan of the font and the textboxes splitting text between different boxes. It breaks the pace of dialog for no good reason. Either split your text to fix all in one box per line, or make your textboxes bigger.

I honestly wish I could play this game more and see what it was about but the spike room collision  broke my patience after multiple tries. I hope other people don't have that problem because it was very early to run into such a problem.

Don't want to rate it because I didn't get far at all to judge. I don't know how people do it, I jsut couldnt get past the spikes. Is it just me??

Hey there. Thanks so much for playing my game. I watched your playthrough and I got quite a bit of feedback from it.

It's my first game and yeah, programming the spikes was quite messy.  Not happy with it but I'll work on it till it's perfect for the final version.

As for the pixel movement, some parts require platforming but pixel movement in RPG Maker doesn't do well with event collisions (hence the spikes and floors).

Text cutting off was another mishmash of using word wrap and my own texts boxes. Not using word wrap again that's for sure.

Too bad you couldn't get into some of the more interesting rooms later cause of that spike room but I understand. It was horrendous and I can't change things till the voting period is over.

Your feedback and video were extremely informative and it brings a smile to my face seeing someone else play it, even if it's a bit frustrating. Thanks again and I hope you play the full version when it's done in a few months. ☺️

Oh, I pronounce it Mu-Hai- Me- Do friends call me Mu-Hai for short.

Very cool game! The graphics, visual design, sound design are wonderful. so well polished and coherent; including the menu and the battles. The game is also very fun, and I enjoyed being thrust into the dungeon without an over bloated intro.  Well done!

Thank you so much. :D Glad you enjoyed it. I'm planning on working on the full version of the game so any feedback is welcome. :)

I've saved into a collection to get back it for further play in the near future, and will get back to you with any detailed comments I have.  But I am only able to play it in browser at the moment.  If you have a Mac build it would help me play it more carefully.  It would be great, whenever you have the time, if you could check out my game as well :)

Beautiful little game, feels very authentically retro, inspires me to make something like it, what rpg maker did you make it in?
