Description
Composed in similar style to the original soundtrack, Frozen Mysteries is a Synth/Orchestral hybrid. Combining techniques in orchestral film scores with the unique synth sounds, the Frozen Mysteries album recreates the sounds and ambiance of the frozen world of 4546B.
Songs:
Day by the Ocean: A track from Ben Prunty's Color Sky now reimagined to fit the Subnautica Below Zero ambiance
Facility of the deep: an iconic Below Zero set of instruments in work to show what could be an authentic track from the game
Lily Pads(recomposed): Taking the beloved Lily Pads biome track and recomposing it from the ground up. Using very similar sounds and techniques used by the actual composer.
Ruins of the Future: A test of mixing in my own styles into the formula. The most experimentive of all the tracks.
The Monster in Caves: Touching the horror elements of the game, here is a track to add "terror of the deep" and "fear of the unknown" into sayings used about the game.

This whole project was so well done! I really enjoyed listening to it throughout. I love how each track is a different take on this games soundtrack, while still staying a cohesive project. I think my favorite was the recomposition of Lily Pads, but I also really enjoyed Ruins of the Future as well.
I also wanted to say that your mixing throughout shows a masterful approach to the use of space and panning. Everything felt just so perfectly in the right place. Well done!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I am really pleased with how the mixing and mastering came out and am so glad the hard work payed off ^^
Loved all five tracks! The whole thing felt really cohesive, yet it never got boring or same-y; that's hard enough to do in any genre, but I think it's especially impressive with this kind of cinematic/ambient music.
Also, as someone who's not played Below Zero - I didn't realize this was a tribute rather than a cover until reading the description, so you definitely nailed the style :)
That means so much that you were not able to distinguish my tracks from the original soundtrack!! Thank you so much for taking time to listen and write a well thought out review.
Day by the Ocean: The ambience you’ve created is intoxicating. It feels so dreamlike and mystical. This is a great tribute to Subnautica Below Zero.
Facility of the Deep: The falling vibraphone ostinato is great musical imagery for a deep-sea environment. I really like the combination of different synths you use.
Lily Pads (Recomposed): You use panning very effectively in this piece to allow the floating echoey melody to weave it’s way between the ambience. I think that you also use reverb very effectively in this piece - I want to try to emulate the way you did this to create a wide open sonic space. Another favorite part is the punch that your kick has.
Ruins of the Future: This is my favorite of your five tracks. The bouncy driving motion feels like great gaming music and I think I could listen to it on repeat for hours!
The Monster in Caves: Very well done creating a creepy vibe with the vocals mixed in with the synthetic noises. Your use of silence and absence of sound gives a lot more emphasis, which is part of the impact that the original music has. Overall these are great tracks, thank you for sharing!
I love the variety of quality songs you've made!! Really impressive! It was a joy to just sit back and melt away to this. Thanks for sharing!!
very ambient! I love it, good job!
thank you!
