What style of retro game were you going for? (Year/Era/Console/etc)
We wanted to go with an arcade aproach of a plataformer using the color pallet of the NES and a traditional Leader Boarad the twist is that the levels are procedurally generated and vary a bit for each play sesion

Looks like there is partial controller support for this -- I was able to move the character around with my joystick (not the d-pad), but no other controller buttons did anything. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but it would have been nice to map a fire/jump button to the controller. Just wanted to mention this for the dev.

This is cute and charming, and I like the graphics a lot (I love the flip jump), though I don't think they really look the part of an NES game beyond the use of pixel art sprites. I do feel like the procedural generation is resulting in levels that aren't really very interesting to play, with way too many enemies to be able to take on. While it's an interesting mechanic, I think in this case, manually designed levels probably would have been more fun to play.

Just so you know: there's currently a bug in this game where your HP and score aren't reset after you die. You start out subsequent playthroughs with 0 HP (dying after 1 hit), but keep your score. You may wish to fix this, as it makes it very easy to get a high score. Also, your score doesn't update until you get hit.

Anyway, this game has an interesting mechanic with its randomly-generated levels, and certainly lives up to its arcade inspiration with its brutal difficulty. I found the controls a bit awkward to handle, since your character's jump feels floaty, but this isn't too much of an issue. My main complaint is that the random generator often places enemies in positions where they're difficult or impossible to hit without getting shot yourself.
