I was left really confused after playing the first level. The menu UI was amazing but then I got dropped into a dark looking dungeon-thing. There were plenty of chests which gave me stuff but then the next chest took that stuff and gave me new stuff, none of which I knew what it did. Then there were some enemies guarding keys but I don't think the keys were used anywhere. I don't get how the dying mechanic works, you just leave a dead body that you can pick up and make it disappear - what stats am I supposed to get from that?
I think you might be playing around with an interesting concept that requires a bit more explaining with a little tutorial and not dropping players into a sandbox level. And the graphics are good!
The UI was pretty. I liked the concept of dying to hover over the pit as a ghost. The mechanic of dying to become stronger didn't really come into play for me, and I'm still confused as to what it does.
Fun idea maybe could expand the use of the different armor sets to more the just stat boosts. What if one armor allows you to fly over the pits but you cant carry keys with you for example. Could add a nice additional puzzle layer without much effort. Would have loved to play more levels but yes time is always the problem. And nice pixel animations btw.
Thank you for the feedback!
We're still working on the game, so we'll have more levels and features in the near future!
The aesthetic is good. Shame there isn't more levels.
Personnaly i keep the UI for the end, so my games nearly don't have any :')
The corpse-to-stats game concept is interesting, albeit a little confusing. Might want to add SFX and a little description of what each costume does. Just little fixes, nothing major. Good Job!
