This game was super trippy and creative! I loved the colors and the concept. Reminds me a bit of Fez. I'm very impressed!
Thanks so much! I actually had someone else compare it to FEZ as well even though I've never played it myself. My main inspiration for the gameplay mechanics was Super Paper Mario, but I'll definitely have to check out FEZ now.
Awesome mechanic idea! The assets and layout look great and gameplay is super interesting trying to figure out the right path. I did have two things for feedback: this is just a smaller, nit-picky one but I kept accidentally letting go of shift and I think it may help to make the 'dimension shift' key be a toggle rather than being held down. The second thing was that I felt like I had trouble when going behind walls, because I couldn't judge how far I was. I get that this is obviously part of the challenge, but at one point I had shifted so I was just a tinnnnny bit off of the coin since I couldn't see behind the wall and I had to use an extra shift to get into position.
Fantastic work! Really enjoyed it :)
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Next time I'm definitely going to make it a toggle, since that's what I wanted originally but I didn't have enough time to figure it out. In terms of having trouble behind walls, I was thinking of either increasing the radius of the coin collecting or adding some kind of silhouette feature to be able to determine your position behind the wall. Your feedback is much appreciated :)
Wow…! I was pretty much blown away by the clever implementation of dimensional shifting. Climbing the spiral stair was a nice visual and gameplay treat to experience. This was a satisfying platform puzzler, and I hope to see more (I saw that this was stage 1-1, so mmmmmaybe…?).
Really nice job with this! Best of success in the game jam. :)
Thanks a bunch! I had a lot of fun with the dimensional shift mechanic, so I do plan to add onto this more later (hence the Level 1-1). Glad you enjoyed, and I plan to try out your submission later today.! Best of luck!
