Don't let the hourglass' sand go all the way to one side or your time is up!

I tried the game from the updated version. I couldn't find a lot of correlation with the input and the result, but I love the music!

This is a pretty creative game that has a lot of different mechanics going for it. I like how there are a bunch of different effects to the hourglass to affect the gameplay.

Suggestions/critques
- I feel that the file size for the game is pretty large for what the game is itself. I would expect this game to be less than 10 MB and it is currently 46 MB on the playdate.
- as someone else mentioned. The game can be cheesed by spinning the crank super fast.
- It would be cool if the player could earn more points the closer to all the sand falling out that they are. This would add an extra level of skill to the game.
- It could be interesting to add more effects such as Draining faster, or the screen going dark or the hour glass clouding up so that you're unsure where the hourglass is (might be too unfair for the player).

Overall great work and an excellent use of the crank.

An excellent concept suiting both the theme of the jam and crank controls perfectly. I especially like the "reverse" modifier - time literally flows up!

I’m a little jealous because I have my own half-done hourglass game somewhere because it is a perfect little representation of the crank

at first I thought I would have trouble with the visuals of the dithering change rather than what I would normally expect with an hourglass but it was actually really easy – the only time I got a little confused was during REVERSE effect as I kept thinking that it meant my crank input was reversed rather then the flow of the hourglass itself. It seems that the ongoing effects sometimes target the input and other times the hourglass it might be helpful to find a visual way to differentiate those as they are popping up.

this was a fun play – having more effects happening at once is great and creates a lot of variation.

This is a fun little arcade game. It's fun trying to do tricks while trying to balance your time between both sides. Whenever I went crazy the game kinda broke though. I was about to do sick flips, but then it lost track of my crank motion, and I lost. So I chilled and was able to play the game as intended and had a good time :) very interesting use of the prompt! ⌛

Thanks for giving it a go! We did discover after publishing, in the right circumstance, continuously spinning the crank could result in infinite points and the game never ending. Whoops! We'll have to do a little more testing for the next jam.

If others might have trouble getting this game to sideload if you have loaded games with a default "com.organization.package" bundleId in the past. You can unzip the zip, edit the pdxinfo and change it to like "bundleID=com.organization.counterglass" and might as well set "buildNumber=2" and then rezip it should sideload.

Thanks for this comment! I have an updated download on the games page with a fixed pdxinfo file. Unfortunately I can't update the official download while the jam's judging is ongoing.
