How does your game bring our theme, The Error is the Feature, to life?
In this short puzzle game, you play as a virus — a chaotic creature by nature. The game also features things like a cheat console, which lets the player bring chaos into the level. (I didn’t have enough time to fully develop this idea because of the time limit, but yeah at some lvls you can use it.)

I found this to be pretty fun, despite it being very short and kinda incomplete!

The arts is pretty simple, but feels quite coherent, thanks to the nice post-processing effects. Same goes for the sounds, simple but very fitting and fun to listen to. The mechanics are also very clever. I think it lands pretty well with programmers like me who like to mess around with stuffs in a game.

The only thing I didn't like quite as much was the levels in the game, which is quite short, easy and there's only a few atm, Of course given the time frame it couldn't be helped, but I honestly think this game has potential to be expanded with more mechanics and be a pretty great game.

Overall very impressed. Goes to show how juice affects how much fun a game feels to play. Great job!

What a cool idea and great implementation!

I love when some programming is incorporated in the puzzles. Console is great, Visuals are great, Sfx are cool. Overall it's a great game, definatelly in top 10 for me, so far

As a developer, I liked the idea of solving puzzles by coding. The game itself very promising in my opinion so seeing a full version of it would be nice!

I really like the concept and I hope to see this game to be expanded with more levels and mechanics. It got me hooked but ended too soon. A quality of life change I would recommend would be use keyboard keys (such as tab or enter) to activate the console instead of using mouse clicks. In that way the player doesn't have to repeat the cycle or click with mouse and type with both hands. I do find  the "error as feature" theme not so prominent in the game. Sure we got a literal bug but the mechanics feel curated and not bug-like. But other than that I have no complaint. Let me know if you ever make more levels for this game so I can check them out.

Developer

thank you for honest feedback. Yeah you’re right about the QoL. Mb I will add more levels as post-jam update, not sure.

I like the concept, and I wish that I could interact with all of the files :D

it actually reminded me old flash games i used to play :) visuals are good and i liked the gandalf bit :D changing file names to manupilate them is very creative! Good game overall. Just needs more levels imo.

So I played your game, really liked the sound design and art. I was only able to beat it because i looked in the comments for the command maybe i just missed it but could you please add a command list or something? Another thing is that some file names were covered by other files and it was hard for me to read them. Those are the only things I would say should change. The rest was amazing!

thx for playin bro,

At the level where you first get the console, there’s a wall of files in front of you. You can read them with “E”, and that’s where you’re supposed to figure out the command: set <filename> pushable But as I wrote in commentary I realised that it’s not clear after i gave game to my friends. So “the game design failure” here is simple. I wanted to make every file readable but there was second level with “file maze” at which you could read only “readme.md”. I ~~just got lazy~~ didn’t have enough time to write unique content for each file in that level. On the other levels though, you can read all the files, hah.

Also, tip: when you open a file, the filename appears at the top of the window. So you can grab it directly from there.

I will check your game once I get home!
