These are two sketches for possible soundtrack of an imaginary pixel 2.5D adventure game "Gloomy Castle", where player gets paid by a mysterious person to explore the medival castle and learn about its history and secrets
Both sketches (after being finished) may be played during 'close-to-boss' locations exploration or in the pause menu
The 'Wandering in Wonder' is symmetrical by the look at its midi tracks, thus it can be played forward and backward without changing in rhythm or melody. Note: it only works for the whole bars; the bars themselves are not symmetrical and should be played straight forward
The 'Intesification' is symmetrical in its piano part (except the couple of last notes) and the intro/outro is not symmetrical. Instead, I took the 'PALINDROM' word, took the number of each letter in the alphabet, substracted 12, if the number was equal to or higher than 12, and used the resulting numbers as the fret numbers for my guitar
Software: Reaper (DAW), Guitar Pro 5 (for midi-tracks)
Plugins: Steven Slate Drums (for percussion), DSK Overtue (for orchestral sounds and some percussion), Keyzone Classic (for piano sounds)
Difficulty
Make a piece that has the same musical notes both forwards and backwards but doesn’t have to be an identical recording.

I like the composition
You used the word palindrome to determine the notes you were going to play. You added more complexity and a stern limitation to an already complex and limiting challenge and for that, I commend you. It was a very creative endeavor. These aren't bad orchestrations at all, but if I could give some advice and critique, they are very simple, and very repetitive, but not because you limited yourself. If I could, I'd recommend a higher focus on keeping things simple, and if you give yourself a tonal limitation like you did, then focus on the Rythm instead. And keep the tones simple and less repetitive and aggressive. Atmosphere works best for gloomy castles.
I wish you well. 👍🏻
Seems a little simple but they're both well produced. Good job.
Intensification has such a convoluted and ridiculous tie to the word Palindrome I can't help but be impressed.
I think as a whole both songs are rather simplistic and could use more stuff to flesh out the sound but I respect your creativity a lot!
