Description
The genre is Dark Orchestral

The game is a souls-like game (i'm a big fan of those)

The album tells the story of Ramont a Knight from the Order of Silver who's fate changed drastically when the Castle was infected by the Black Flame, overthrowing and killing every single soul of the Order of Silver. The story begins here, Ramont the only survivor of the Order, Mad by the infection walks aimlessly consumed by the Black Flame killing everything he sees.

The album is meant to be listened back to back because while there's 2 pieces is 1 story that begins and ends with the album.

The 1st track Souls of Silver represents the desolated Castle where the Order of Silver stayed long ago.

The 2nd represents the boss "Ramont the Eternal" and the fight you have with him.

The first day of the Jam i was kinda not getting something i enjoyed but the 2nd day was when i did this pieces and i really enjoyed to write them, i was inspired by From Software games and music of course and listened to the soundtracks a bit this days.

The DAW i used is FL Studio.

Theme:

Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
In game the Castle of the Order of Silver is at the top of a snowy hill and when the picture changes it represents when the Castle was destroyed by the Black Flame (The infection)

I love the tension of "Ramont the Eternal", well done!

very strong composition and a nice constrast between tracks! Definitely has the dark souls vibe, has that Motoi Sakuraba sound!

Wow, I'm super impressed by the quality of the orchestral and choir sounds you've utilized for both of these tracks! Especially so for Ramont the Eternal. It sounds like it came straight out of a Dark Souls boss fight!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It's honestly really inspiring and good to hear that, i'm a big fan of the souls series, so i'm glad you enjoyed it the piece and that it sounds that it came out of the series aswell hahaha

Souls of Silver - This is really creepy. with those evil strings and that ghostly pad in the background. I like how calm it is. Beautiful melody, too. Paints a very vivid picture !

Ramont the Eternal - Woah. Epic! Great buildup and feel with the 6/8 beat. I love that choir. The downward slide in the end is very creative  and effective too.

These are two awesome compositions and well finished!

Legit question: How do you produce these high quality sounds for orchestra and choir? I started using FL Studio a month ago and all I have accomplished so far is a very mediocre (though charming) sound using sf2 soundfonts. My choir samples are comically bad. Will you show me what resources you use and your process?

Developer

Thank you!

About the question, well is basically a matter of using vsts, and learning how to use them and your tools to make it sound like that. I would not have any problems on showing you some resources you can use to learn more about it if you want.

The way the picture theme is used here is certainly rather interesting. I like the lore you wrote for this. Both tracks do a good job setting an overall dark tone.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm not that good at writing so i'm glad you liked the lore. I really enjoyed to try and imagine while being inspired by both the images and the souls series

Omg, I love these! Could easily image the game.
Btw, which strings vst-s have you used for the tracks?

Developer(+1)

Ooooh thank you so much!

The vst that i used for the strings spicatto was  Albion One, and for the melodic lines was Cinematic Strings 2

Epic composition / orchestration! Definitely getting a cinematic/LOTR/GoW vibe as well. Very nice use of choir on track #1 as well, and the string downward glissando works very well too! Awesome work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed, and yeah when the downward glissando was an idea i just had for very short second when i wrote the ending, and i really enjoyed it.
