Description
This is a song I made for the OST Composing Jam #3. This music loosely follows my own feelings around the theme ''Story Of Seasons" as I want people to come up with their own story for this song and be free to imagine whatever they want when hearing it. It's very rough around the edges as I haven't had a lot of experience yet but I decided to go through with it anyway even if it's not finished. I used the tools I had at my disposal and tried to create the best thing that came to mind, I hope it's somewhat acceptable.

From SoundCloud description:
My rendition of the story would the that the health of the planet is going down more and more after every season and how you start to get more and more negative or dissapointed as things go on, due to the rest of the world showing no situational awareness, hence the usage of reproach.

Message from the artist:
No matter how you rate this song, I want to thank you for this opportunity and your time.

Theme:

Story of Seasons
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
It loosely captures my own feelings around the four seasons but I've made it so that anyone can imagine everything themselves as I don't want to restrict peoples imagination but my rendition would be: The health of the planet is going down more and more after every season and how you start to get more and more negative or dissapointed as the seasons go by, due to the lack of situational awareness shown by the rest of the world, hence the usage of reproach.

LOVE the section at 5:42! the 7/8 time signature in this part felt real good

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

I agree with elitestratman, this is perfect bgm. Minimalism is a powerful tool when scoring anything. It might not strike the listener on the first listen by itself, but this kind of stuff tends to work its way into your brain and then you find yourself loving it and throwing it on to listen frequently.

Also, the track really opens up later in a huge way and totally takes a directional shift away from minimalism. There's probably a handful of tracks in this 15 minutes that could be separated out in different layers and used in a whole variety of ways within a game. This could almost be a showcase of many different moments that are scored in the game.

Great work!

Perfect BGM. Just the right amount of interesting without being distracting. Honestly that's something that many composers for media including myself struggle with. I remember getting told my music was too distracting in a game and it was the most hurt i've ever been. Anyways enough about me. The pacing here is really great - you give the music time to breath between more chaotic sections. I especially like the cacophony of short notes and percussion a little after the 11 minute mark. There were some points where i could really picture a timelapse of our planets steady and tragic decline... good job making me sad! But really good job :)

Thank you so much!

I've been thinking more about this entry and it reminds me of some really great atmospheric music i used to listen to. I dug up some of the tracks, namely C.C.S. Logbook by The Evpatoria Report for the drums and The Beyond by Collapse Under The Empire for the piano and yet again the drums. They both feature electric guitar as opposed to your song which features mainly synths, but i think the vibe is really similar. Collapse Under The Empire has tons of other great songs and can really do no wrong in my eyes. Hope I get to hear more from you in the future!

I enjoyed this long ride, kept me interested and loved the mixing of sounds, especially with that type of drum sound. It kinda feels like it meant to have a distorted electric guitar somewhere in there :D I have no problem seeing this as a background to a story. I think giving some more context wouldn't be limiting, it still would have plenty of room for interpretation :)

Thank you, you are correct about the electric guitar. This song was made with electric guitar in mind but unfortunately I don’t have the proper recording equipment for it yet. I will continue to work on this song to make the pieces fit better and create a guitar piece for it.

Lovely drum sound and mix 🥰

The pace was a bit slow for me, but honestly I had a lot of fun jumping around the track and listening to different segments, there is a LOT of high quality instrumentation and writing here.

This is pretty good! However, I do wish that you came up with more of a story instead of leaving it to the listener's imagination
