Description
Space Dust is an imaginary space adventure game in which the player travels through space and interacts with different lifeforms across the universe.

I went for an orchestral hybrid new age soundtrack (combining orchestral instruments and thick pads) to create a sense of grandness and space.

The Main Theme is supposed to represent both the journey the player undertakes as well as the journey of life. Each section ramps up and changes until the whole track finally dies away the exact way it started. The fragile "life" leitmotif played by twinkly marimbas and pianos is repeated throughout the track to create a sense of empathy with the different lifeforms the player will encounter. They would all be different, but they all have one thing in common: they all live. This track would play in the main menu and at key points in the game.

First Contact is a sting that would play every time the player would encounter a new lifeform. It reiterates the "life" leitmotif and creates a sense of wonder with its effects and pad.

Through Space is a more energetic track that would play every time the player would take off on their spaceship. The rhythms from the main theme take center stage here and the "life" leitmotif comes back a little later since this track focuses more on the journey than on what the player will encounter.

Theme

How does it fit the theme?
This game (and soundtrack) is all about meeting other lifeforms across the universe and creating a sense of empathy with them, since we all experinece life. The game assumes that Panspermia is correct and that the universe is filled with life we haven't encountered yet.
