I've since added an updated version post jam deadline with a smaller file size and shapes now stop rotating when on the ground, check out my itch.io page for the update.
Cool artwork!
You nailed it! That is cool, I was trying to keep the shapes bouncing along to the music, however click to much and had to wait for a few seconds for them to come back! Well done, your artwork is excellent too
Note: there's now an executable version of the game made with pyinstaller. The remaining code and assets are the same as the previous submission, just unzip it and run RotateShape.zip with the music and images assets and file hierarchy intact.
I'm sorry Hexabounce, I couldn't get it to load and run, I did try a few things but I'm not a Python Guy. Could you upload some photos for us to see, or maybe a video to see it in action please? Otherwise, well done, code looks great for a CodeJam entery!!!
Not sure I fully get it haha, but a very neat presentation. I'm also glad to see another ".convert_alpha()" fan, you love to see it.
I can also confirm that this code runs on python 3.8.10, on Windows 7!
Couldn't run, not going to load Python interpreter. I am sure the game was cool
