Great job submitting a game! The visuals are great and the game has polish. Its not very difficult at all. I held down the fire button and moved back and forth the entire time and had no trouble, especially once I got the upgrades there was no challenge. Enemy damage was meaningless so I could tank everything I didn't get with the bullet spray.

Loved how the mothership's attacks were a combination of all the enemies you faced up to that point. Good choice to turn the Nokia sideways, it works perfect for these space shooters. Thanks for participating!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, the bullet hell approach was an experiment and I'd say it failed, at least with my implementation. Going forward, I'd make the player less powerful and maybe just overall make the gameplay slower.

Interesting game! I included it in my Nokia 3310 Jam 4 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Pretty cool shot-em-up style game. The graphics look great and are animated well.  I like the variety of different enemies along with the wave spawning system. The upgrades are cool and I like like how the game is capped off with a boss fight at the end.

My main issue is that the damage from enemies is way too low. The only challenging part is the boss, but that's because it's literally impossible to dodge all the bullets when there are so many onscreen and the ship's hit-box is so large. I would much prefer high damage, dodge-able bullets so it feels more like a test of skill and less like just a damage race.

Thanks for playing and for your comment :) I agree with your second paragraph, I had a bullet-hell style game in mind, but I don't think it suits these Nokia-style restrictions. At least with my execution. Going forward, I'd probably start with toning down everything and maybe also making ships smaller.

So, I played up until the boss, then just stopped playing after a couple minutes of fighting it. The framerate was jumping all over the place the whole time, and since I couldn't see my health bar (my screen 1920x1080, with space for the toolbar and browser tabs, so the game screen didn't fit) I never got a sense that I was taking damage. The enemies waves aren't very interesting either, and the boss has a lot of points where I'm not sure how one avoids being hit.

The visuals are nice, but I think the boss just took too long.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I lowered the html widget size a bit, so it should be better on smaller screens.
