Super fun to play :) Walking speed when squished is a little bit frustrating but I love the mechanics.

Developer

Thank you very much! I'll try to speed it up a little after the jam is over. :)

:D Very cool

Developer

Thank you very much! ^^

Very creative use of the theme! Everything felt right about this, from puzzle complexity to the subtle cuteness of the interactions & cutscenes. Had quite a bit of classic nintendo whimsy about it, neat stuff

Thank you, I am happy to hear you enjoyed my game! I can't help but take your comment as very high praise, haha, I played yours too and I was astonished by what you managed to pull off.  :)

Thanks!

Cute game! It was quite fun! I love the Interdimensional Spike reference as well. But was the slow movement when you were in pressed mode really necessary? I found it a bit more annoying than useful. Especially when you had to restart a level and have to go through the whole thing again and you have to move by so slowly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think any of the levels actually needed the slow movement. Did it?

Developer

Nah, you're absolutely right, the levels did not need it.
I think I made it like that when I started developing the game without being sure where I was going with it and just never considered it again. Pretty silly of me. Not being able to jump should be enough as a limitation of the "pressed" state.
I'll keep it in mind for when the jam is over. Thanks a lot for your feedback! :)

Very fun, I beat it! Loved Interdimensional Spike too.

Developer

Thank you for playing both my games, I am glad you enjoyed them! :)

This is a really cool take on the idea where you are the button that turns on and off. The only problem I had was the jump didn't always seem to work had me fall a bit more than I usually do and I'm guessing that might be one of the bugs that happened. Also, in the 2nd ? key level, the really tight jump to the elevator was kinda annoying. If you mess it up, it takes a bit to get back to there and if you mess up a lot, it starts to pile up. Other than that, levels were fun and easy and I didn't notice any other bugs that bogged down the game. If you ever expand on this idea, I'd be down to try it out cause it could lead to some really interesting puzzles

Developer

Yes, right, I apologize for the frustrating parts of the levels. I had to change some collision boxes last minute and it messed it up. The jump, though, I am guilty for just not making more accessible. I'll try to improve that with some so-called "coyote time" in future iterations. :)

Thank you very much for playing and for all the feedback!

Love the idea, great execution (although I got stuck in one level without any option to reset 😥).

But please tell me the cute little button has a name?

Developer

I have not thought of it that far, haha.

I am so sorry you got stuck, I should have added in the description that the R button resets the level, I somehow forgot.

Could you tell which level you got stuck on? Though I left the option to restart inside the game, I tried to create the levels with reset options in mind (dying, at least). I might update it after the jam is over. :)

Submitted

Oh that reset would have definitely come in handy 😅

It's the level where you have to catch the boulder in the air, so that it activates the platform beneath (catches you). If you get hit by the boulder two more times, you get locked in between the two platforms. I hope you know which one I mean, I can share a screenshot if you need it.

Developer (1 edit)

Oh, right, I know.

I think it happened to me just after I had already made my submission, I just hoped that people wouldn't get stuck there, lol. I guess I lost one point for polish right there, haha.

Fortunately, there was the reset option. Unfortunately, I forgot to mention it, whoops.

Thank you for your help!

No problem, great job anyhow :)

Developer

Thank you very much :)

This is great! I like how you applied the theme, and there is a lot to appreciate, the amount of levels, the design of the puzzles, the sound. It's a really polished experience. Too bad it's Windows only, if it was HTML5 it would have been much more popular.

Oh and the elevators are dope!

Developer

I am really flattered by the compliments and happy you enjoyed my game. What do you mean by Windows only, though? Might there be a problem with the game? I actually built and uploaded it as HTML5...

Submitted

Well, that's because I read the name wrong, and I confused the game the I had just downloaded with yours, so I thought I downloaded your game, when it was another one. I should sleep more.

Developer

Oh, I hope you have not confused the experience too and this was the game you were talking of, haha

Thank you!

I am a little confused. Is Nokia Pirate your submission or Abler? :)

I must have given you the wrong link, my apologies. My submission Nokia Pirate.
