I really liked the music and the progression of tracks here - the beginning areas feel so happy and calm compared to the night forest scene. It's also fitting that moving forward is what progresses the story even though there are times you don't want to do that; like in Trixie's area I had an 'aww man' moment where I felt bad and didn't want to leave her behind but it was time to move on. Nice work overall.

Wow... we're absolutely blown away while playing this game. The story is absolutely beautiful... and the way it's so open ended with what the lady, the tall man, the little girl... what they all mean. Like, the imagery of life and death was very clear, but the way the lady brought the main character so much peace and the electricity ripped her away, had us wondering who really was death and who was life.
The ending... really threw in a two sided twist that got the emotions bubbling over. The art just added to the pain, and the beauty.
As a whole too, the art is beautiful.... the music is equal parts ambient and equal parts grandiose, alternating perfectly where the mood was fit. The graphics were absolutely stunning too, and the walk while reading mechanic was certainly one I've never seen before! Like a living storybook!
Definitely one of our favorite, if not #1 favorite game in this jam. Keep up the good work!

Guys congrats first of all. The soundtrack was amazing. But as far I see in this jam, I'm gonna tell the same thing again. There is no gameplay :( Through the gameplay, all I was doing was pressing the "D" constantly. I believe we can step up our level. I know this jam is under the narrative-driven title, but I do think there has to be a difference with the visual novel field. If you can add a little bit of gameplay so that the player can interact with the story and embrace the ambiance more. A for the effort. Keep it up, guys.
Fantastic. The writing handled the slow-burn of realization perfectly. And of course the symphonic track and all the cute visuals, plus the left-right mechanic--all of it was superb. Though I did feel there was a missed story opportunity on the final level with the "A" key if you know what I mean.
I was like "jo flowers cute" and then like "oh no... guess I'll cry :D"
I liked it <3 <3
Oh, what a great narrative game this is!
It's all about the storytelling, and I love how subtle it is. You can try and guess, but the ending comes as a surprise. Little things and metaphors scattered in the descriptions and dialogues... those last moments feel so chilling.
Lovely graphics, but my favourite is definitely the music - a great range of feelings, and are great coupled with the story
The team who worked on this did absolutely awesome, and I believe this game will do great in the Jam! Bravo to all those involved.
thanks so much! glad to hear you loved the music most about the game 😄
i did the emotional orchestral songs like the happy ish song at the beginning and the dark forest and the final scene, and validbit did the more retro-electronic-ey sounding songs. we each had our own songs in the game basically
together it seems we’ve covered a lot of emotions!
Great work from everyone involved. Music, writing, art (cave background especially) - all blend together perfectly. My one criticism would be that mouse inputs to start and progress dialogue with characters feels unnecessary. Keep it up!
