I had a lot of fun playing this game, but I felt that it didn't quite fit the theme of the jam, anyways, good job! I streamed it on my twitch, in case you want to watch it.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I’ll be sure to checkout the VOD!

This game is very enjoyable great job!

Cool idea, the enemy ai is kind of impressive for a jam game. The controls are fun and pretty smooth, although  it feels a bit weird that the movement to the sides is limited . Would be nice if the crowd could give a little more feedback between the knockouts.

Developer

Thanks for playing + the feedback! I had a lot of fun making the AI! I think it's the first time I moved player input into a proper controller class so I could use the same capabilities for the AI.  I wanted to avoid upside down controls so I limited the rotation. I may look into different options for this though. Thanks again!

The mechanics are good. I like the idea that you used wasd and arrow keys separately for each hand which feels good.

The people fight after game over. I can't understand how to restart the game after dying.

Developer

Hey thanks for checking out the game! I kinda reused the hand controls from a game jam in the past about squashing bugs and figured it'd work well for a fighting style game! I setup a little "Main Menu" button for when the fight ends, but I guess it isn't showing up. Thanks for calling it out! I can probably get a fix out for that.

Cool game with cool mechanics and I had way to much fun spamming up on both keys to just keep rapid punching lol. Good job :)

Developer

I for sure spent too much time just hitting the punching bag rather than adding more polish. Thanks for playing it!

Love the game's look and mechanics!

Unfortunately I stumbled onto a bug where even after it showed Game Over, we could still keep fighting, but still a fun and enjoyable game with sweet mechanics!

Thanks for checking it out! I totally forgot to restrain the AI at the end of the fight haha!

First of all, it made me giggle that the "tutorial" screen is just "read the itch page".

That's fine tho - not having time to create a tutorial is understandable. Plus, the Punching Bag mode is a very nice training mode.

The controls feel good to use, with the dual controls with Arrow Keys + WASD to control each punch individually - intuitive, especially when guarding! A great idea.

It would've been way too easy to just pummel through your adversary, so the idea of centering the game about exciting the crowd (trying not to get knock downs too fast, putting on a good fight) makes the game a lot more interesting.

And the emoji faces crowd are funny to me lol

All round, an enjoyable and well thought out game!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! The punching bag mode was my original prototype before I programmed the AI. I had enough fun with it to add it as a separate mode. I'm glad you liked it too!
