I feel like the "Black Man" is not very natural, The way he talks to the player is too souless. The items you find is too easy to found, just spamming E and it will give you the right one . The movement is smooth, which is nice. If the game has some music, it will more fun to play. The final level is unplayable, maybe a bugs? In cap, the game is nice but too souless.
Interesting idea for a game. I think the idea of building a raft across three quests is a cool one, sadly i couldn't complete the last quest because the level would not load. I feel like the core gameplay loop could use a bit of work, because opening text boxes isnt super exciting perhaps if you made it about using maps and landmarks to find items that could be a fun refinement while keeping the essence of the project you've made. Regardless, good work, thank you for sharing your game!
interesting concept -- would prefer that the items needed were harder to find instead of a lot of "broken" ones. excellent use of the jams limitation
I think the biggest issue of this entry is that the core player activity here is opening and dismissing the 'I don't need this' dialogue, which won't be very interesting for a player. As a consequence if player starts dismissing these dialogues quickly they are going to miss the dialogues that have a different message.
I think better solution is to only have a single input from the player to handle the items they don't need. Perhaps more, dialogue is better saved only for when they find something useful as that is what their attention is better focused on.
I sadly couldnt start the third level, but nice conpect anyways!
I wasn't able to past the first level :(. There's also a problem with scaling, so the game is only playable in fullscreen, and there's a part where you need to press ESC, and that closes the fullscreen mode. Apart from that, I liked the idea and had fun. Would love to play it again once the bugs are resolved :D
I like the idea of a find the right object game. Unfortunately, I ran into the same error that dg did, but after the second level.
I found the matches and started the fire, but then couldn't progress past that. Talking to the guy again put me at the level select screen and I couldn't select anything but the palm tree island.
There was a small error in the code)
In fact, now after passing the 1st level, the second one is available, since I fixed the bug
I apologize for my mistake((
