Good concept - would like to see it expanded on. The player and enemy sprites look nice and the controls feel very responsive.
I would've liked some more feedback from the game, when I hit enemies or myself with the shots - maybe a sound, some particles or tiny amount of screen-shake. I could see this becoming a nice hack and slash game :)
Good effort.
If you have the time, I would appreciate it, if you checked out the game that I made for the jam :3
Thank you very much for the feedback! SFX and some better animations would def have helped a lot I feel, I need to figure out how to do them well lmao. I would have liked to add some invuln frames and a little character flash when damage is taken. I also made a cute little slime that we didn't end up using :( Maybe making it into a boss would be neat.
I tried your game and wanted to say huge props on making it from scratch that is wild to do in 3 days! Great job!
Hi! I am glad to see projects in game jams made with Godot surfacing, and so was excited on playing this submission. However I was not able to launch this on my device as I don't have any Vulkan support.
By any chance, could you release an export with Godot 3?
I'd understand if other releases won't be made due to circumstances (and it doesn't have to be right away, building these takes a lot of time and effort). If ever another build was released, I'd love to play it.
Hey! I love to see Godot get used as well! I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't play it I'll have to see what I can do with Godot 3. I can't make any promises as I am still a novice and there was a lot of GDScript changes with Godot 4 but I'll give it a shot!
No pressure!
Just really glad to see these projects being made with Godot that's all.
I'd still look forward on playing it when it's released, so overall goodluck!
A game has good controls, but I can't understand where damage comes from. I away from the bats, but I still take damage. I pick up blood, I take damage. I don't pick it up, I take damage. How does this work?
Hey, the projectiles the player shoots "Bloodslashes" deal damage to the player. It kind of fills out the theme of blood is lethal however its actually a bug that I couldn't fix lmao. Originally the blood is lethal part would have just been the player becoming more lethal via picking up blood drops. Sorry for the confusion and thank you very much for playing our game!
