Use of the limitation
The Limitation: You Are Your Own Enemy. I intrepreted this in my game as when the timer starts, the text tells you which color you need to paint in, but the color of the text is wrong, and misleads you. You have to conquer your own brain to recognize the correct color to paint.

Very interesting idea, and I love the "chill" vibes set by the music, haha~ Something I would have liked to see is the option to skip the timer once we're done painting with a color, or perhaps a paint bucket tool option? I feel like those would boost the immersion/relaxation factor a bit higher, but regardless I really like your initial idea! ^^

Thank you! :) Yeah, I definitely plan on adding a skip the timer button, I'm disappointed I didn't put it in before the end of the jam hahah. I feel like a paint bucket would make the game too fast, unless I added a super fast difficulty level!

It is a very interesting concept. I like the idea of a relaxing painting experience and the graphics and sound are mixing quite nicely with the concept.

But I didn't quite enjoyed the gameplay... The memorization part didn't resonate with me and having to wait 10-15 seconds just to change the colors after I was finished painting was really tiresome.

I had to put it down after a few colors... Because It's not relaxing for me to have to wait so much.

But If I had kept going, probably would just "cheat" by taking a screen shot of the colors instead of memorizing them.

I don't think the Limitation was improving the experience, it felt to me like it was getting in the way of the intention of the game.

Thank you for your honest review, I definitely plan on adding a button to skip the timer and levels with faster times to add a bit of a challenge.

Cool idea! I was thinking, what if there was a game over screen for painting the wrong color in the wrong spot? Maybe that can be "hard" mode or something, it could also give you less time to do the complete the picture (like 5 seconds) to force the player to really lock in.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, I had planned on making a completion percent result to see how well the painter did at the end! And different difficulty levels with faster time and randomized colors  :)

This game was fun! I'm happy to see how well it was made, I love the relaxing qualities of the game they let me chill out and play for a bit. Really tested my memory skills at times.

Developer

Thank you for your review :) Hehe, really? I thought the rainbow was easy to figure out the colors XD But I wanted to add levels where instead of being in order, they'd be random!

Fun stuff!

I liked the really relaxing music. It felt really nice to have a super low-stakes coloring game that just felt super chill.

I think if there were some more complicated pictures that maybe rotated randomly, this could be super addicting to play.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you! Oooh I like that idea about pictures with objects that rotate randomly!

I think this could be a fun game of memory with a couple more levels! Was nice to go through the level with a drawing tablet at my disposal.

I do think having a way to immediately go to the next coloring phase would be nice - it didn't take too long to color in a segment, so I'd have to wait for a while, usually.

Also, something that I think is pretty important is to add something that says you need to press enter to start the game - it took me a while to figure that out, and I was tempted to just quit the game before figuring that out.

Glad I did end up figuring that out though - this was a neat, relaxing experience!

Thank you for your review! :) I definitely had in mind to add new pictures with different colors and the ability to skip the timer! Oh, I didn't realize that I should've added a prompt to let the player know to press enter to start, haha.
