Use of the limitation
The most common way a player will die is to their own shots. Decrypting the message with the given key in Level 10 (Vinegere, "SOS") also takes the player to a message that tells them what they have actually been doing this whole time...

I like the idea but the first person perspective makes it super hard to dodge your own bullets. I think it would have been awesome as a top down game.
