Use of the limitation
You play as the Dark Lord Allowen who has awoken into an era without humans to hunt him. While this situation may seem great at first, it means Allowen has nobody to feed upon besides monsters with their disgusting and un-filling blood. The only threat that can kill Allowen now is his own hunger as he searches for a satisfying meal.

Other commentators have already said how awesome the game is, and the only I can do is to agree with them.
I always love the 2-3 Pico-8 entries in each jam, but this one is especially awesome. Beautiful graphics, catchy music, and a lot of personality. One of the best games I've seen in the jam.
I must say though, the difficulty scales a little quickly. I got to the end, so I realize that it's a very short game, and that is understandable in the context of the jam. But it would have been nice to have a somewhat smoother difficulty curve. :)
Thank you so much for the comment! I totally agree with you about the difficulty curve being far too harsh. I initially planned for the abilities to be unlocked after each level with an easy tutorial section to go along with them but I ran out of time. I hope to one day extend this game a bit to fix that issue. I really appreciate the comment :D
awesome game! very nice graphics and responsive controls, it is appropriate with the theme and the limitation, the gameplay is fun and challenging with a good learning curve, overall I enjoyed playing, congratulations! keep it up!
