  • Awesome submission! One of the most creative games and theme implementations I've seen in this jam, I've not seen anything like this before. Awesome projet, I loved the puzzles. I'd make some better camera movement if I were you since it felt odd with the non moving background as well. Other than that, awesome idea!

How does the game fit into the theme?
In Glyph, you are presented with three words at the start of each level β€” but you get to choose only one. That single choice defines the tools you’ll have to solve the level. Pick wisely, and the letters become a perfect kit of hammers, ladders, and portals. Pick poorly, and you’re stuck trying to reach the exit with an awkward, ill-fitting set of abilities. The game turns language into strategy and embodies the theme by showing how powerful β€” or limiting β€” one choice can be.

Really unique game. I've never seen this idea before, at least not implemented like this. Incredible creativity involved here and I think the minimalist art style serves the game well. I had a hard time with overall feel and movement of the game. I agree with some of the other commenters that the camera could be a bit more zoomed out and the character sprite be a bit smaller. With a bit more refined movement, I think this game could be really fun. Excited to see where you go with this idea. It's got a lot of legs for sure!

Ohhhh I was caught off guard by the gimmick with the letters -- this is very cool to see! Felt like the game would've benefited off a more zoomed-out camera coz I was having trouble seeing my surroundings, or perhaps a shorter character, but overall this is quite cool!

Feels a bit unfinished I couldn't use the portal to pass the wall because after I used HIT for ladder it got stuck tried a few times but couldn't beat the game. But good idea.

Thanks for playing our game! The theme is YOU GET ONLY ONE — meaning you only get only one decision, so choose wisely. Every letter is a potential weapon, though some are just there to confuse you. It's part of the challenge and design. Appreciate you giving it a try!

Ohh I get it now I thought we got one thing to use for every word. But how do we beat the game?

Honestly the gimmick is so cool to see. The puzzles were super fun to solve! I did the same thing as akasommerville and It was so cool to actually use the letters.

Thank you so much! We're really glad you enjoyed the puzzles and the gimmick — it means a lot to hear that it was fun to solve. And that's awesome that you did the same thing as akasommerville — using the letters like that is exactly the kind of interaction we hoped for! We're currently working on fixing a few bugs and making improvements, so it should be even smoother soon. 😊

I love this gimmick! And super glad now that I didn’t read any of the instructions, it was a delightful shock to see the letters turn into tools. :)

So glad you loved the gimmick—and even better that it caught you by surprise! 😊 We're working on fixing a few bugs and making some improvements, so it should only get smoother and more fun from here. Thanks for the kind words!
