I liked the hitting animation, I don't know why I found it funny. But anyways, the way you were telling the story was original. Everything was pretty good. Good job!
That font was friggin awesome. It was such a neat little storytelling trick to just place it in the world, instead of text boxes. It was also interesting being a metroidvania with no attack (that I knew of) so I was left to dodge all of the enemies, instead of the usual hack and slash. There was one enemy in the 'cave' stage that homed in on you so crazy, and that was pretty tough to avoid, but once I got past him, the end was in sight. It was really short, and tbh I didn't have much time to get into it, but if you expanded it out, it could be a really neat concept for a metroidvania!
Oh, and just a comment on the art, the style is cool, but it is hard to differentiate the foreground and background, making it kind of hard to look at. I think you could fix this by making the background outlines a light grey, and the foreground outlines black, just to provide some contrast. The style is nice, just currently a bit hard to interpret the environment.
Thank you so much for the review! One could attack with the stick, but it seems I didn't make that clear enough! I absolutely agree with the comment about the background and I will make sure to change that.
