It was a fun diversion and felt very metroidvanish. It's hard to judge the assets, as they are external (which is OK, especially since there are 4 engineers writing a game :).

The only gripe I have is that when I arrived in the boss room, the door closed behind me and the room was closed. I then realized that there was a big guy running around in spikes in the room before - probably the boss escaped its enclosure and soft-locked me in that room.

The character controller physics here are interesting. Normally it would feel weird to be this slippery, but to me it feels pretty good. A suggestion might be to add a little bit better coyote time/input buffering for the jumps, because it was pretty easy to slide off of platforms accidentally.

The art style is great to look at, especially those drawings in the opening cutscene. Also a big fan of the slide animation when you slow down, that's a really nice touch. The background parallax effect is really cool as well, nice job!

Another improvement you could make would be adding feedback for health/damage taken. It was a little annoying to teleport all the way back to the fire checkpoint after getting hit and not knowing how much vitality the character had left.

Nitpicks aside, this was really fun to play! Thanks so much for making it!

Good game! I like the intro sequence which helps build the world. The animations are well done. The slide to stop animation was pretty satisfying.  I also found the rope swing ability interesting.

Some issues I encountered:

  • No sound in the browser version
  • Boss room blocked after player death.

I got some problems at the end in both browser and windows where I can't get in the boss room if I got defeated.

For the rest I didn't find so much issues, controls slippery apart (suggest to use .velocity in order to avoid slippery), I liked the music and the effects where kinda clean such as the mechanics.

I enjoyed playing it for a while, and even if the starting cutscene is fire I won't open the game any time 'cause text are too slow for me.

I want to play it in the future, so I hope it will get an update when it can

Really pretty art and animations, it looks incredible. I played in browser so no audio for me (chrome). I personally don't like the slippery controls but I did get more used to it and was able to progress to get the whip/grapple, which I found kinda hard to use/build momentum with. I fought one boss after getting the whip which lead to a dead end (or at least I think so) and used the grapple to enter a big empty room, so I am not sure if I reached the end or am missing a secret, but it was fun nonetheless! Great job!

Liked that opening fall, that was neat. Also, pretty art for your opening text sequences. Do wish I could've skipped the text as I can read a lot faster than it wanted me to. Controls felt slippery and the platforming distances were harsh; they had to be almost perfectly executed to progress. That's doubly difficult with slippery controls.

Appreciate the feedback! Ill increase the stopping forces to take away the slippy feel.

Looks pretty good and plays well, there just wasn't much I could do. Found a gun that started to float in front of my character but it didn't seem to do anything. Couldn't get to the buff animal boss because the door was closed before I even got to the room. The sound didn't work in browser, at least not in Opera GX.
