I second the getting over it and that hazards weren't always clear. Finding a way to make it visually obvious what will kill me and what is terrain is super important to being super hard but still fair.

Fairly enjoyable! Not really a Metroidvania, though.

DeveloperSubmitted

I will change the visuals.

thanks for the review :D

btw I can not change anything until after the game jam.

Nice game, super addicting honestly and kinda reminded me of "getting over it."

One thing I wished was more obvious were the hazards, wasn't totally sure what were and weren't going to send me back, but otherwise good work!

thanks I do want to change somethings but I can not until after the game jam

glad you enjoyed

Good game! I like the SFX & environments. I died after making it pretty far and lost the motivation to continue. Although I do wonder what is at the end of the game. This game doesn't seem to have any Metroidvania elements, but it is enjoyable.

Jumping is the main mechanic of the game and it lacks polish, you feel a lack of satisfaction in controlling the jump.

It's an idea that could lead to something interesting

For example, by having the ability to double, triple or quadruple jump! Not being able to control the direction of your jump or, on the contrary, managing the strength and/or length of your jump, etc...

In short, lots of possibilities to make it fun ;)

thanks for the ideas I will think about them

This concept kinda reminded me of 'Getting Over It', essentially a rage educing game with the goal just to reach the top or x spot. It's actually quite addictive even though it's simple. Would have been cool to see more pathways to explore and perhaps a score board to fuel the drive to get higher. I see this game having the potential of making levels which increase with difficulty which would fit better into a classic 'metroidvania', or alternatively just harder the higher you go. Also the ending screen was a little anti-climactic, I don't think I got the chance to see the 'portal' I was meant to go into. Fun concept though!

Feel free to review our game if you have the time, any feedback is super appreciated!

This is no metroidvania but addicting game. If you add ending scene it might get better and the game is very hard.

thanks :D

I might update it

The game is enjoyable with it's simple controls. Minimalistic art style and sound effects are also amazing. Only bugs that i faced in the game were little hitbox issues (but nevermind my game probably has more of them :P). I also like the map's art styles. Long story short, simple and cool!

thanks for the feedback

I do want to fix the hitbox and update the game in general :D

btw can you add a macbook file to your game so I can play it and rate?

Submitted

I will try to add it today, probably in a few hours.
