I really enjoyed the art in this one, it's impressive how much you were able to do in 1 month. Level design was interesting and the swimming mechanic was great.

thank you so much!

Wow, you really committed to the story, pixel art, and world design for this one! It definitely feels unfinished and I ran into quite a few bugs, but the scope of the game shows a ton of promise. Here are a few of the issues I ran into:

- As I am sure you already know, the lack of music or sound fx makes the game feel pretty empty and unfinished. I know I am not great with sound either, but if you spend some time working on it, it will go a long way towards making the game feel more complete.

- I was unsure how to attack at first and died almost immediately on the first brother battle. Adding some explanation for how to swing the sword at the beginning would be really helpful.

- After the first time I died, I suddenly appeared in a cave with a looming purple thing coming out of the background, which I assume is actually a later part of the game?

- I also had an issue where the sword sprite just got stuck on the screen and appeared in every room I went into.

- After I successfully 'failed' the first brother battle, I was unclear what I was supposed to be doing in the 30 second time limit.

- After being stripped of my abilities and exiled, I actually found the game became significantly more exciting! The parallax backgrounds and the world and creature designs were all lovely and made me eager to explore, and gaining the swim ability really opened up the world and allowed me to do so.

- Unfortunately, I died soon after in the area with purple water, and the game crashed, forcing me to end my time with the game.

But this is a fantastic start, and I am really excited to see how the game turns out when it is finished! I hope you keep working on it!

So, uh, my first impression of the game was... awkward. I reached the battle with the brother, didn't know which input would let me attack, I pressed Enter out of curiosity and then respawned at what I believe is the area you go to after your brother beats you up. Oops?

It's a pretty nice game from what I've played. Definitely has an incomplete feel to it, but you've got swimming in it so y'know, it's neat'o.

crap, I forgot I had some shortcuts to tp my around the map for debugging. You're right tho, the game is still quite incomplete.  Maybe I'll complete it for SMVM. Thanks for the feedback!

Aside from things looking more plain at the start of the game, visually your game looked cool. The sliding mechanic felt cool, especially when using it to jump across a gap.

I would have really liked SFX or at least just ambient looping audio to give me something to listen too. More hit FX, even just a white flash would have been nice. Swimming felt a bit jank, with the swimming animation and underwater attack animation, but being able to go underwater was still pretty cool.

I got a black screen after entering an area with poison, so I'm not sure how much more content there was after that, but from the opening rigged boss, and the toad/lizard thing boss, I can say the boss fights were creative.

Nice entry.

Thank you!

Sound design is definitely my weak point, so I shamefully avoided it. The same kind of goes for VFX. I'll make sure to have those as a main focus next time!

Thanks for pointing it out!
