Enjoying the title screen groove, I sat on that page for a little bit before starting :)
Liked the crocomire style boss and I appreciated the good telegraphing of his attacks.
Really enjoyed playing this one. Controls were hard because it was quite a unique movement - which i enjoyed, (making jumping forward by default was an odd choice lol) but it was also hard being combined with some pretty tough wall climbing/jumping sections. I think that's one of those things you don't see when you're familiar with your own game.
Anyways, loved what I saw and enjoyed it, could have benefited from a map and less jarring transitions into new sections, but 30 days is only 30 days.
Also the guns swapping with 1-4 made me realise what I needed to do with the pistol but got stuck after that and couldn't figure a way to crawl or use the orange orbs.
Really good art and animation for the main character, the doors, and most enemies (though I wasn't a fan of the things that look like briefcases). Even the idle animation for the main character is great! Very lively, with a lot of personality. Nice music.
In terms of the powerups, I was pretty impressed with the wall-climbing ability. This is not easy to implement, but it works pretty well.
Overall, however, the game suffers from controls that are not as responsive as they should be. The basic attack has a very short range, and the jump has this weird forward motion which makes it impossible to jump straight up. For future projects, I'd recommend you focus on solid controls at an early stage.
That said, an original and charming little entry.
Graphics wise looked cool, but I had huge issues with controling the character and I got stuck after obtaining the pistol powerup
Dang, I really liked the spritework on display here, you have some really nice creature designs here. It was really cute that one of the powerups was just this tiny gun. I did end up getting stuck after getting the gun -- ran out of ammo in an area surrounded by the red gates -- where was I supposed to go next?
You can shoot the red gates with the pistol. :)
