Nice game ! I like the pixel art. When I got the anti-grav ability, I somehow got stuck above the ceiling of the room though, and couldn’t get unstuck. There might be a missing hitbox for a tile in a screen transition ? Other than that, congrats for your entry !

Really neat game! I particularly like the gravity swapping ability as it's something I haven't seen in other metroidvanias. It's a bit busted in some places though - you can dodge the final boss's attacks by just sitting on the ceiling and swinging with the sword. Anyway, the presentation is great, with a nice pixel art style and fitting music and sounds effects.

Like others, I encountered the bug where enemies can move between rooms.

the pixel art is nice and looks good

the fact there is a VVVVVV powerup is cool

but

-fire enemies stay and spawn even when not in the room

-does the bow and arrow do more damage than the sword or?

also the timing for jumps felt kinda harsh


it crashed when i died to the UFO boss tho (i think i got hit by 2 things at the same time, forgor to save crash log)

1. yeah, that's a bug

2. no, sword and bow have the same damage, but the cooldown time is different

3. Yeah...

This was very fun! I loved the simple aesthetic, the sprite and animation work are very charming. I only encountered two issues:

  • when jumping off of a ledge but landing just past its corner, onto the vertical wall you are trying to jump over/away from (if that makes sense), the ant gets stuck inside the wall. A jump out of it solves the issue though.
  • The fire spitting enemies remain active even outside the room once activated. This is particularly egregious in the second mushroom jump sequence room when you do the second loop around, where they just appear from under the floor without warning

Other than these issues though, this was very fun, the upside down ability was a neat idea! I wish there were some boing sounds for the mushrooms making you jump, and that the bow and arrow had more use, but other than that, great submission!
