How does your game relate to the theme?
Compound eyes of insects are made up of thousands of "ommatidium" each of which acts as a simple light sensor. To simulate this, we pixellate (or hexellate) the screen to simulate their "mosaic vision" along with other compound eye effects like an insane field of view.
