I love how your choices have effects on the story you get, really well done!

Host

Loved it!! multiple endings that all tie into the main storyline. Your actions affect your experience. And the atmosphere is nice and eerie. Nice idea to let the player live out the story from all perspectives.

Great job!!

Hey man, nice job on this and congrats on completing another jam!

The controls feel a bit off here. You can't move diagonally and changing directions requires full release of your current direction before you can change. Just feels a tad clunky. Not super important for the gameplay given what you were going for, but those little quality of life things can make jam games feel a lot more fun.

I really liked the story of this game and it made me want to see all the endings. Keeping the loop short and concise really helps to enable the player to explore without feeling like your time is being wasted. Huge kudos to that, especially for a jam game where folks may only spend a few minutes (if that) checking it out.

Just giving myself some space so folks don't accidentally see a reveal in the "twist" or narrative. I'm not a fan of making the player a cop in games anymore. Especially when you're prompted to immediately SHOOT something in almost a jump-scare fashion. However, I think it sorta worked here. If you're playing to the anxiety of being in a tense situation and having that sort of power, the average player won't be trained or equipped to make that judgement call, especially with such a strong encouragement to shoot someone. In that respect, I think your narrative does a good job of drawing attention to the player's actions. And THEN you test them again! That felt pretty clever. I think all being under the guise of a horror game detracts from that underlying message in the end. It's still possible to walk away without thinking about your actions at all. However, for a jam game, that's a pretty tough line to walk and I think you kept the course. Very well done.

Overall, good job. :)

EDIT - the audio blares felt really bad. I think not having a good reference for where your volume is at in the game made it even worse. I felt like it should be brought down to be at least in line or lower than the yell so folks don't blow cheap speakers or wake people in the house. Or scare people that are nearby.
