It's simple, but for the most part, it works well. The art style and music fits the themes of the game well. It reminds me a bit of an original Gameboy game; I can also see early Macintosh like FacemeltingSolos mentioned.

I'm not a huge fan of endless runners but this one is pretty good. I do agree with ShibeyFaceGames; I think it would be better if the player was pushed along by the edge of the screen. There's also a lack of feedback when you get hit. I'm still not sure why I keep dying.

It would also be nice if the high score was persisted across page loads, and even better if there was some kind of leaderboard/high score table, but those are probably way out of scope for a jam game.

For a first game it's very good. I think I mentioned what my first game was in another comment somewhere. It was a text adventure where the goal was to feed a homeless man green slime for some reason. It was really bad in almost every conceivable way.

First game jam? Nice. Also nice: your choice of Chopin.

If I could suggest one thing: some way to speed through text. Dying and then reading the opening crawl again makes it tough to get back into the game.

Fun though, and the art style is interesting. Kinda reminds me of 80's Macintosh stuff.

Hey, for your first game and first jam, this is great! I really like the overall theme of the game, right up my alley for what I like to see in a Magical Girl story. The distorted black and white graphics work pretty well and have a good unsettling feeling to them. The frantic piano music also fits surprisingly well.

My biggest critique would be in the gameplay. I kind of wish that the character auto-ran, so that I'd only need to worry about jumping and attacking. That or make it so the player doesn't fall off the screen on the left. That would certainly make the game easier, but increasing the enemy aggression could fix that. I made it to the enemies that fall from above, but not much further.

Nice work! Keep making games and jamming. :)
