The back story really made me chuckle but unfortunately this entry breaks a few of the jam restrictions. It was a bit difficult to read the white text against the busy background at the beginning, which is a shame cos the content of the text was great!
Anyway I think this would be quite good expanded into a bigger game where the restrictions don't apply.
Congratulations! You made an amazing effort at making an FPS on Vanilla Javascript! I am impressed! The only thing I didn’t like is how the maze layout can be some disorienting sometimes and also when you enter to the door you take a while to go to the other side and it’s disorienting too. For the rest I think it’s one of the best entries of this jam!
Great art and great story. I bet I won't be original in saying that I like the doom 3D style. I was a bit lost at first and felt like I need a bit more location markers like the one you had in 2nd room (statue), but later the environment became familiar enough to find my way through.
Interesting game but I'm unsure if the smooth camera movement is valid for the Lospec Jam... I like the aesthetic going on in the environment, very cool!
Yeah, I agree, it doesn't match the control scheme, but they jacked us. We wanted to do a FPS before the launch and up to the launch the pretend console was a thing, but they only stated there will be a color palette and resolution restrictions. I don't remember any mention of a control scheme. And while we could've used some old style wolfenstein controls where A and D turned you instead of strafing, we just decided against it because it would've been a nightmare to play. After release we've already determined the game is hard enough let alone having to not use a mouse.

Oh, I see! Yeah, there were a bunch of restrictions and suggestions they added afterwards :\
