Interesting take on the theme. I wished that you could control the temperature with q and e or the scroll wheel instead. I do like the sound effects and the player character though.

My highscore is 21, it could be more if i did not press f instead of c. So, for more challenge, you can decrease the time after score is higher than 10, or smth like this. Nice art and sounds. Great job!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, its funny that you got 21 because most people find the game already challenging as it is😂 my friend can't even make it past 2 lol, but thank you for the feedback

This was quite hard at first, but weirdly engaging. In the end, I got good enough to get a score of 12. I seem to have been defeated by a glitch though. The last bullet I guessed correctly was at max red and then the game wouldn't let me make it cooler for my next shot. But overall, well done on the concept and execution!

Hi I'm glad you liked it, I'm sorry about the glitch though, I'm still at the beginner stage of coding so that means my code can sometimes get so confusing so I miss things here and there lol, Ill run through it cause maybe it could be a glitch where the heat key was held too long then the color didn't reset or something in that manner, but thank you for the feedback

The concept is interesting but I really struggled with how similar the colors were. Using a wider range of hues or just reducing the number of colors would have helped. I also found the controls for the temperature switching unresponsive at times. I would literally mash the cooldown button, just for it to not react for several seconds.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, yes there's a trick to matching the colors, the bullet has those darker stripes that messes a bit with your eyes so it makes it a bit difficult to match them, sorry about that. and I'm not quite sure why the cool button wont work for you, but Ill check if I can find something

Ohhh I liked that the color of the lock as it fell down from the sky was accurate.  You could kind of prepare for what you needed to do, which was important with the short timer.  It really had a nice quick-draw feel to it.

Interesting use of theme, I'm not sure if it's just for me but the sound gets very weird at times, lots of crackling and white noise, which might be worthwhile looking into. It would be interesting to convert this to a horror style concept, where you have to shoot locks off doors while being slowly follwed by a monster or something. A designer called DanPan in this jam wouldd be a good person to talk to as they made a great horror style experience with Inflamation

Hi there thank you for the feedback I just checked into the sound, and I can't hear any white noise, but if you played with HTML 5 I think I know what you mean, because when I play it on there the sound is really laggy here and there, and yeah I had an idea for something similar to that horror you are talking about but was a bit pressed for time, but thank you for the Idea I'll try to implement it

While it lacks user feedback I love the way it uses the theme literally

Thank you, and yes I'm new to game jams and so I'm still trying to figure out  the meaning of things around here, but thank you for the feedback

Nice game! The game has really good idea, but most of the time when I was 100% sure that it matches the color it didn't. Maybe it should not be so precise about the color or maybe I'm just very bad. My max was two locks correct. Otherwise the game looked great and there were no bugs.

Thank you for the feedback, yes I think I need to make the colors more outstanding because it is a bit confusing from time to time lol, but I'll check into the colors and so to make sure if its right
